Multiple-HR game from a pitcher!

Never seen this before in my many years of playing OOTP! Hope this bodes well for Syndergaard's start tonight.

Rick Wise hit two home runs in a game once....and threw a no-hitter in the same game.

Not to mention Tony Cloninger's two grand slam game.

So, of course, after I go talking about how I had never seen a pitcher hit 2 HR in a game in OOTP...

The first 2-HR game was June 23rd, 2018. This game... August 4th, 2018. Played about seven hours apart in real-world time.

I've been playing OOTP since around 2012 and just to reiterate, this had never happened to me before today.

Note the Silver Slugger Award, which he won in 2017.

Walt Terrell did it off future HOFer Fergie Jenkins back in '83, too.

He's actually a pretty decent hitter and with above average power, it's not too much of a surprise.

OOTP predicted Syndergaard's 2-HR game against the Dodgers last night. But now I'm expecting him to do it a 2nd time.

I had a historical player in the 1960s back in God was it 5 or 6 named Jim Coates that hit like a mad man, .400 with homers. I have the file someplace on some old HD.
Here is Jim "slugger" Coates in real life.

I started the league in 1960, which is his best hitting year, but .400 with homers, no way!

That could never happen IRL?

Yes, I do remember something someone was posting about pitchers hitting too many HR's or something like that. LOL

OOTP is the best!!!

Don Drysdale was maybe the best hitting pitcher of modern times. I am not sure if he ever slugged two in a game.

That's pretty insane. Same day it happened IRL.

He has the skillset for it, but still. Wow. Love OOTP for reasons just like this.

And that is why I prefer to play no-DH.

As much of an a-hole as he is Id definitely put Zambrano over Drysdale.

Well, the worst pitcher striking out on a ball miles in the dirt is also a guy trying to help his cause. He's just not as good as the guy mashing 2 homers
