New guy questions
I just bought OOTP17 and have played a few games figuring things out as I go.
I also have Puresim Baseball where I can change ownership from one game to the next so I can play a season where I play every game being the team I want. Can that be done in OOTP? So far, when I play one game, I finish and go to the games only to find all the rest played by the sim. In one, just messing around, I own Baltimore. First game I was Baltimore, next day I chose Rangers, next I chose Yankees because Tanaka was SP and last one I chose Marlins. I would like to be able to play a season where I can play each game, but have not found a way to do that yet, if it can be done. Also, can this game be played HTH? Used to play Status Pro Baseball with my Brother in Law on the dining table where we did the same thing, splitting the teams for each series. If game can be set to play each individual game every day, we would like to play a season like that HTH. I assume Historical season has true life transactions? In Puresim, I loved those seasons as manager only not knowing what trades etc are coming. had a season with Rangers where my Cs were always tired and used a back up IF more than the Cs. Got a surprise message one day saying the GM had traded for a C with higher durability which solved that problem. Looking forward to trying an online league if I can find one with real players starting anywhere from around 1970 on. Don't want one starting 2016 as there will be fictional players coming along pretty quick. I like real players with some sort of alternate reality so your power hitter you drafted may or may not be what you expect or even better. Puresim is more user friendly, but OOTP is more immersed into the overall game and I have enjoyed the game so far and look forward to having to watch the stats performance more than the ratings as to who should be playing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark |

1. In pregame screen, bottom left, "Simulate World in Background", change dropdown to No. Other games on that day will not be played.
2. H2H Not possible. 3. Historical - you can have real life transactions or not, choice is yours. 4. Which game is more user friendly depends on experience and use. Someone going from OOTP to Pure Sim not having played it before but having played OOTP for years would find it not so user friendly. |

In my gaming, baseball, war gaming, eye candy means a lot as well as playability. I always proposed to puresim that I thought it would be great to have the different fields in computer mode instead of the same generic field. I didn't want to mod in photos, the game is a computer game, I wanted the fields the same. I then saw somewhere that OOTP got MLB licensing and I looked at it again because of that. Real team names without having to edit like I did in an old demo. Then saw the different fields like I was hoping for in Puresim. I kept looking the site over for a couple of days and bought the game just because of those two things and the fact I am on military disability, I have more time on my hands and am glad I saw those messages. I'll learn more as I go along. Already happy though.
HTH through IP address or better, some day have a web site where somebody starts a season and anybody can come to the site and pick an existing season or start a new one and see people waiting for an opponent can sit and take the other team and just play games and have fun. That would be great. |
