Can I get a quick refresher on extensions from someone familiar with the financial aspects? If I have, say, $25 million available for extensions, and offer a player a 3-year $5 million a year contract extension, does only the $5 mil come out of available monies for this year, or does it whack all of the $15 million out of that cache?

It adds $5 million to your expenses for each of the next 3 years. If you go to the Salaries screen it will show you how much each player will receive in each upcoming season and how much total salary commitment you'll have each year. |

Right, but on your Front Office page, where it flatly states how much you have for extensions, he's wanting to know if the total contract comes out of that amount or just next year's salary extension. At least, that's how I read it.

Only the 1st contract year comes out of that amount. I've back-loaded contracts many times to get the first year within the budget. |

Gotcha. Thanks, guys. I was hoping it was just the first year, with a backload avenue for me. I didn't want to burn my stash on a single player. I appreciate it!
