What is you single favorite addition over the last few versions and what is #1 on your wishlist?

This should be interesting. My first OOTP was '15 and from what I gather, it was an excellent time to start get into the game.

The number of new features just in the last couple versions alone makes it hard to choose a favorite. If I have to choose one, I'm going with Hall of Fame voting.

The HOF voting has been my single favorite addition since I started playing, and looking through the previous versions before '15, I can guess it would hold up if I had started sooner.

I often start leagues, quick sim for 20 seasons, the sim year to year while only voting on the HOF. I love it.

My biggest wish list item is the ability to load players. Being able to load players would also make possible a number of often requested features, like a WBC or fall/winter leagues. In my online league, we have a feature where we can loan players to one of the world leagues (if they are from the league's home country) or the Independent league. I do this by trading the player for $1. I don't really like this method because it changes the "acquired" on the player profile page.

Your turn

As basic as it is, I really enjoy the 3D.

My favourite recent changes have been:

OOTP 17: Faster run-times
OOTP 16: Team owner goals
OOTP 15: Improved international free agent system

New features I'd like to see are more left-handed pitchers (for realism, I wrote a long post about it earlier) and make it easier to import league structures from previous fictional leagues.

Yes the faster run times are significant for a quick simmer like me. They are a close second on my list. Great suggestion, btw.

New feature for next year for me is definitely a complet revamped scouting system!

Something with more than one scout and different opinion on players

favorite addition - 3d view and much faster simming

wish list - something akin to "owner/GM mode". My fantasy is to own my favorite team and manage it from the very top. Being the GM is cool, but doesn't quite live up to that fantasy...especially when the owner comes and takes most of my profits every off-season. I was saving that money for next year's free agents!

My favorite has been Real-Time Simulation. I am more of a simulator than a manger/GM/owner so I enjoy being able to play out leagues quickly yet watch games on a daily basis.

This, along with re-written scouting reports, is definitely atop my wishlist for next year.

Favorite: Expanded settings for infield / outfield shifts.
(Game Recaps was a close second.)

Wishlist: Being able to know who and how long the opponent has a pitcher warming up,
as the feature seems useless until then.

I really enjoy the ability to play any World Series in history, and exhibition games between teams from different eras.

The time and care Markus is taking with the 3D gameplay is fantastic. Watching it mature of the next few years continues to give me another reason to live.

Owner goals give each season a bit more ot a "gamey" experience. I like having to keep the owner happy.

It would be possible for me to continue playing OOTP16, as is, for at least a decade. So my suggestion for next year is to allow Markus to use his knowledge, skill, and magic to develop it. I like surprises.

Favorite new feature... Game recaps.

#1 wish... Game recaps in the post season.
#2 wish... An in-game custom ballpark builder.

Increased editing space

so you can easily position your player bars & ball locations in 2d ballpark editing. We don't live in a 640x480 universe anymore.

3D wide view was a game changer for me. Wish I could see names overlayed during the plays on the 3D field view- my most wanted. Goes back to BBPRO98 and HH2K3. Want to see names in field view while a GM. One pitch mode 3D is 1B most wanted. Great game. 100+ hours in already not counting steam offline time.

probably a feature that's been around a while, but was explained to me this spring - how to make a Quickstart (Negro Leagues, Nippon League) into a template so the players can be brought into a semi fictional/historical league .... but when the game gets all the minor league things sorted out and brought back to 1901 (if ever) that'll be a bee-knees for me!

Easily the 3d which I had avoided until this version, and which I now can't imagine doing without.

The game needs a story-like mode with more realistic financials and AI behavior when it comes to finances... this is the games crutch right now. There really is no point to financials at all because when they are on, the AI is absolutely atrocious at handling it for a myriad of reasons that have been beaten to death since ootp12...

Story mode would utilize the owner task system but add something meaningful, like save up money to buy a stadium, and later improve it. Once you have a better stadium you can field a higher level team, etc etc till you reach the majors. That would be awesome but for this to work, the AI ability to use their money correctly needs to be fine tuned.

that's actually a cool idea. I hope they do that in a later version. Sure you can see them right before the play but to follow them along the play would add to the immersion I think .You should list it in their suggestions thread.
