Farewell Seasons
Do players near the end of their careers ever announce they'll be retiring after the next season no matter what happens like David Ortiz?
I know it's rare, but it would be cool if it was in there. |

I have seen it happen in 16, so I assume it is still in the game,

Some do, some don't. Old ballplayers never retire, they just fade away.....

Martin Maldonaldo told me he was going to retire at the end of the season to enlist in the US military, but for some reason I can sign him to a contract in the offseason.

Does the farewell season have any impact on attendance of away games - fans across the nation want to see the player one last time ?
