Team USA
Welcome to USA baseball! The USA looks to dominate the global state in their own game, but with powers such as Japan, Dominican Republic, and emerging forces such as England, Italy, and Nigeria, it won be easy. Can they win the 2016 WBC? Will they even qualify? Will the USA even win the North America Series?
Note I am writing this on a separate computer because the one with OOTP has a dysfunctional Chrome. I wont be able to have game-pictures but I will try to integrate them as much as possible. We start out in Miami, Florida as the WBC Qualifiers have begun. 32 nations are placed into groups of 4 making 8 groups. They each play each other 3 times, home, away, and neutral. A win counts as 3 points, an extra-inning loss counts as 1, and a loss is 0. Whoever win the group ith the most points goes to the WBC, the 2nd place teams in every group go on to another round of qualifying. Simple right? The groups look like this... Group A Group B Group C Group D Group E USA D.R. Puerto R Cuba Canada Belize El Salvador Trinidad A T Dominica Costa Rica St. Kitts Haiti St. Maarten Grenada US Virgin IS Barbados Antigua Bermuda Guatemala Turks and Caicos Group F Group G *As the Bahamas will be hosting the Mexico Panama WBC, they receive automatic entry. Jamaica Costa Rica Nicaragua Guadeloupe British Virgin Martinique Baseball Tonight - ¨So Tim, which of these teams do you think can be a dark horse in the qualifying?¨ Tim K - I am looking at 2 sides, the US Virgin Islands and Guatemala. USVL has 2 big leaguers in Callix Crabbe and Akeel Morris, and Guatemala has several players in the minor including many starters. Baseball Tonight - ¨Hey Tim, with your expert opinion, what do you think of manager Ron Gardenhireś team selection? It looks like a young side does it not?" Tim - I really like this American roster. Plenty of depth, youth, and experience all in one. The 4 starters may not all be superstars, but since it is November, it is hard to attract the top pitchers, but Sonny Gray looks like a good option and I love the inclusion of Captain America, David Wright. USA ROSTER INFIELD James McCann SP Derek Norris Sonny Gray Eric Hosmer Shelby Miller AJ Reed Brett Anderson DJ Lemahieu Daniel Norris Corey Seager Addison Russell RP Kyle Seager Daniel Hudson David Wright Darren O'Day Tony Sipp OUTFIELD Dellin Betances Giancarlo Stanton Wade Davis Joc Pederson Drew Pomeranz Austin Meadows Joey Gallo Billy Hamilton Kevin Pillar NOV 16, 2015, Miami, USA, Marlins Park, USA vs St. Kitts and Nevis Pitchers : USA : S. Gray (14-10, 2.98 ERA for OAK) SKN : A. Dolten (8-3, 3.78 ERA for Nevis Claws in the IPBL) Game Recap W - S. Gray L - A. Dolten R H E USA wins 9-2 in Miami to start their campaign! USA 9 16 1 Gary goes 6 2/3 giving up just 2 hits, a homer SKN 2 4 2 for 2 runs in the 4th, and a liner in the 6th. Austin Meadows began his USA career with a HR and two 2B. The USA also had good days from James McCann (3/4, 2 RBI, R) and Corey Seager (2/4, HR, SB). Last edited by SawyerDR19; 05-04-2016 at 04:37 PM. |
