free agency quirks/ bug

Several stars priced themselves out of the market. Top 1B, and four 7 rated Starting Pitchers who are between 30 and 34 years old did not sign at all.

I guess a quick cheat would be to wait until the last day of free agency and nab these guys at bargain prices.

Anyone else see this bug?

Ktully. Are you playing with a salary cap turned on? Perhaps this was the reason they went unsigned. If you dont have the salary cap turned on I reccomend you increase the team cash maximum for each team from the default 5 million to 50 or 100 million dollars. It can be found from advance setup menu.

I have had very good success with finances and seen virtually all free agents of any value signed when the teams have the ability to build up a 'war chest' of cash.

I do not have the salary cap option. I would also like the ability to edit finances to give each team more money from TV contracts. I am guessing that because I am in manager mode this is not an option.

You are correct, it cant be edited in manager mode.

This is a known issue. I reported it to Markus when I recieved the previewbeta.

I could wait until free agency was over and sign guys for 1/4th of the asking price on the open market.

It gets worse the further you go along. There are very talented guys who you can get for 2-3 mill about 6-8 years in. I signed 2 MVP's and 3 Cy Young award winners in one offseason.
