Game Crashes When Starting New Game

Any time I go to create a new standard game or custom game the game will crash after I enter the name for my save. I can start a quick start game without a problem.

I use Windows 8

Please try to disable your virus scanner and any other program running in the background.

I'm having this problem too-turned off Windows Defender temporarily and still wouldn't let me start a Standard game.

Can you try running the game as admin (right click the OOTP icon -> run as admin). Also, in the game settings dialog (main screen), the bottom option "helper threads", please select None there and try again.

I tried the thread part and it didn't work but there is nothing that says "run as admin".

Quick update for anyone else who had this issue-recent patch appears to have fixed it, no disabling Virus Scanner, running in admin mode, etc. Thanks Markus and company for all the hard work!
