Draft Pool - No players created
I have been playing a solo Historical League. I started in the 1982 season.I got up to the 2015 season, and I changed the rookie part from Import to Generate draft pool. In 2015, no problem. I had close to 13 round of players available to draft. In 2016, no players, just the leftovers from the ones who didn't sign. 2017 only had 1 player in the pool, a leftover from the past 2 drafts.
What do I need to do to make sure new fictional players are generated for each Draft pool?

First, make sure you're in commissioner mode. Then go to the Free Agents screen and click on Available Actions then click Create Fictional Players. Make as many players as you want, but make sure that you click "Eligible For Next Draft" in the dropdown window beside Draft Eligibility.

Rather than just randomly create a draft pool (that's not bad advice btw), find out why your league isn't generating players.
1. Make sure you don't have any custom views/filters set when viewing the draft pool. 2. I'm assuming you haven't got to the draft yet, so go to league setup, rules tab and make sure you have it set to generate enough players, rounds and player origin (game generated or feeder leagues). Then change the reveal date to 1 week or 2 weeks or however much time you have until the draft. A new pool will be created on that date. If you've already passed the draft, change the draft date to a future date in your season, and a corresponding reveal date. 3. Go to your rules and see if you have any foreign player limits. ie, no foreigners allowed. 4. Go to the players tab and look at what your draft pool origin is set to. ie: if you don't allow foreigners, make sure non are generated. 5. Now run your sim to the new reveal date and see if you get a draft pool. If you have the correct number of players, all is good. 6. Once you get to the next preseason, dbl check your settings to make sure they stuck, and also to change your draft date back where you want it if you changed it above. |
