Idea: Indy League that feeds ML draft but also signs ML FA's
I'm tinkering with an idea to start an indy league with its own draft pool that feeds my ML. Can I also have this league sign washed out ML free agents?
I foresee a problem if I need to set a maximum age in order to feed the ML. That would prevent me from signing those 35-yo washouts. Is it best to do this with 2 separate leagues, or is this possible?

I do something similar in my TBC online league. We have the armed forces league which is open to any player under 24. They enter the draft pool at 24. We've had multiple players get cut from their original team, join the army, develop, and get re drafted at 24 and lead productive careers

So, like the original ECW wrestling, only for baseball? Interesting idea, not sure if you could work it or not. Maybe.

Ended up creating 2 indy leagues. One similar to what jpeters wrote about-
it has its own ammy draft (so I can start getting new blood into the universe) with a league age limit of 24. All 24 year olds are eligible for the ML ammy draft. This league can also sign young FA-washouts. The second is an indy with no draft and a minimum active roster age of 25. Sort of a second chance league for players whose careers never took off. Both league reputations are set to 5 and have financials set at about 20% of the ML. I just know from experience that somehow one of these leagues is going to sign a superstar. I will deal with that when it comes up.

personally, I'd turn off financials for the younger league or raise the rep.
