Being part of this (and the last two) boards, one of the most frustrating things for most asking questions is finding your answers. On the original board I was able to use the search feature to create an "active" Table Of Contents, but this board has resisted every attempt I've tried to duplicate that effort.
It occurred to me that if the FAQ area was subdivided into subjects (video problems, strategy, creating leagues, how "X" works, etc.) we could ask - and get answers to - questions in an area already organized into a Table Of Contents. Steve/Markus; Would the current board allow this to happen ? or maybe even a 2nd board ONLY for FAQ type activity would be the answer. Comments ? ps: In answer to those of you that would suggest the search function - although helpful - it is very dependent on "guessing" what the original wording used was to be successful. |

Not Markus/Steve but..
It is possible (and relatively simple) to do this with UBB 6. We have done it over at Championship Manager Coders for access to code snippets, originally with UBB 6 and now with VBulletin. Just involves moving the posts to a new forum. Another option would be to install a 'knoweldgebase' CGI script (http://www.hotscripts.com has a few) which is designed for this FAQ system Darryl [ January 23, 2002: Message edited by: dpwoodford ]</p> |
