Renewing Staff Contracts

Hi all. Really enjoying the new game.
Just a quick (and probably stupid) question - how do I renew staff contracts, I can't seem to work out how.

A few weeks before they expire, there will be a news item to negotiate a new deal. No extension option prior to that.
