OOTP's 1st 2015 MLB playoffs prediction: Yankees to beat Astros

Here's the first prediction piece. I'll be simming and writing about the rest of the playoffs along the way.

I certainly hope so, but I certainly have to say 5 simulations isn't much of a sample size to get any meaningful data. Also Chris Young is starting over Ellsbury and it doesn't seem to indicate who is DHing on the summaries. Good idea but I don't feel like it means much unless it's done at least a few hundred- one thousand times, which obviously would take awhile.

Perhaps a larger sample size for tonight. And do not even run the LA-NYM series. Because the Mets will win every time and then it will go to their heads in real life and they will blow it!

Yes, a larger sample size would be better, but OOTP doesn't lend itself to that, unfortunately. If I sim the game 500 times in the Sim Module, for example, it will run through the starting rotation. Yes, I modified the rosters for the play-in games so each team only had one starter, with any other starters designated as emergency SPs, but I assume the game would just use whoever it could as starters if I simmed the game hundreds of times.

I just tried it and simmed Cubs-Pirates 500 times with the modified rosters. Arrieta started 167 times, Lester 149 times, etc., so that data is useless.

And as a one-person PR/marketing dept., I don't have the time to run the sim 500 times and manually compile the information.
