PC picks in draft
In the initial draft when setting up a new league, does the computer virtually ignore prospects until the very end? This must be the case because when I checked under News/Top Minor League Systems, I discovered that I have by far the best, by a very, very long shot. My points are 276 and second place is 151. Most teams are under 100.
Now, I'm no drafting genius and I didn't ignore my major league roster. I fared decently on the ML draftees. I chose a couple of hot-shot pitchers with my first two picks, then a couple of hot-shot sluggers with my next two. Then I filled out most of my lineup plus a closer and middle reliever. But instead of filling ALL the lineup, I took a couple of five-star prospects in the middle. I did so because at that point the draft was filled with mediocre MLers and exceptional prospects. Does the AI just ignore prospects until it has filled its entire ML roster? That doesn't make much sense. |

I'm not sure about ootp5, I haven't had a chance to run any drafts yet, but in ootp4 the computer would start taking big time prospects somewhere between the 6th and 8th rounds if I recall correctly. Like I said though, not sure about v.5
