Overall ratings for position players
I think that the overall rating shouldnt change when you change their positions, it should take into account how many positions they play and how well they play them in deciding the overall. For example if there are two Brock Holts but one only plays 2B, but both are equally good defensively there, and both are listed as 2B, the one that plays more positions should have higher overall, but in the current system, theyd be equal in the eyes of overall ratings.

I believe the game is saying that's how good of a 2B he is (in your example), not how good he is across all positions. What you're looking for is (I think) in the game already if you have overalls calculated across all positions.

As for the OP, when overall rating is position specific then player OR most certainly should change with position. Just set it how you like.

What im really looking for is versatile players should have higher overall than nonversatile players with similiar bats. Does this feature do that?

It doesn't and I agree with that. You and I may have a different definition of versatile. What is yours?

Right but Brock Holt is not demonstrably better overall than the players he replaces from time to time at any one of the positions he plays. A superior SS with the same bat as Holt who can start every day should probably be rated higher despite Holt's versatility. An every day SS is more valuable.
