I like this new feature very much.
It adds to the challenge and movement of players. |

Sure...it's great...except when you have a AAA relief pitcher coming off the DL and doesn't want to return to the AAA...that's a little weird...

Maybe he's tired of hurling in the minors......

I'm sure he is...but, he's going to stay on the DL until he accepts assignment or until his contract runs out.
Mental note, don't put players in the minors on the DL unless they are out for the season...got it.

I never did anyway... I don't think there is any benefit to doing so and it is not as though you need the roster space.

Is this a feature that is automatically on? Or do we have to set it on somewhere?
I ask because I tried to demote my star players to the minors and they went willingly ... I thought those would be the type of people to refuse. |

You toggle it On/Off in the League Setup screens.

Can this option be toggled on/off in the middle of a season?
I usually go with 14 position players and 11 pitchers (5 SP, 5 MR, 1 CL) in the regular season. For the post-season I add one position player (a Chone Figgins type, good speed / defense who will pinch run and not much else) and drop my fifth starter to the minors to clear space as I just go with a 4-man rotation in the post-season.

I think this option is to reflect the real world of baseball. Leave it on, who knows, he might accept being sent down to the minors and miss the playoffs.... N O T Like any real player wouldn't like it! I think your best option is to just turn it off then you won't have to deal with this challenge. |

Just wondering what actually happens when you release a player and he is resigned by another team, does the original team still have to pay his full salary? Is it deducted from your own money?

I know that you have to buy out their contract. Not sure about the answer to the second half of the question.
