ACL Divisional Series

Yankees take a 2-0 lead on state-rival Buffalo with a pair of 2-run victories (7-5 & 5-3).

Florida squeaks past Virginia in two 1-run games (4-3 & 5-4) and leads 2-0.

PCL Divisional Series

Bearcats come out running, but the Blues come out swinging and go up 2-0 (8-2 & 4-3).

Houston wins by a breath and a mile to take a 2-0 lead (2-1 & 13-4).

Both series continue tomorrow night. Catch it all at the Maverick Baseball League

Can anyone beat those powerhouse Blues! Come take a look and see. The maverick is a great league, with very good owners, and some unique rules that make this league a lot of fun.

Maverick Baseball League

The MBL was my first experience with an OOTP league and it has been nothing short of awesome! Extremely well run...and an excellent group of owners.

I'm a OOTP newbie and feel VERY lucky to be given a team in the Maverick Baseball League. Being a total newbie ( just bought the game a month ago ), I needed a league where everything was written down ! The rules and guide-lines for everything are well spelled out on both the rules page and in the forums for dumbies like me Our Comish has been very helpfull in my learning process. I don't know if theres a waiting list or anything but some of you might wanna check out the league. Virginia Generals GM

Maverick is Unique

If you want to join a league that is fun and well run. Come join the Maverick.

This league is run by a committed Commissioner who doesn't manage a team. I don't know about any of you guys out there, but in 99% of the leagues out there, the Commish usually manages a team and that team is usually one of the better ones. Actually in three other leagues I am in the Commish currently has the best record in all three????

The second season begins in about a month, come by and check out the site, you'll like what you see.

Props to our commish, Ran! He is THEE most dedicated commish.

This a severely active league. All owners are exceptional. If a team becomes available, it won't last long. This league is one of the finest out there!

PS- The Yanks are looking forward to making the Bay area fans "sing the blues..."

All correct. It's a great bunch, and Ran's the most active commish I've ever seen.

Unfortunately, my Buffalo Bulls have just about finished tanking now But they're well-positioned for next year, having dumped a lot of age and salary in the course of the season.

ACL Divisional Series

Yanks sweep! With a 3-3 tie going to the 7th, the Bombers drop their load and score 14 runs in the next 3 frames (only 4 earned on 5 errors). (7-5 / 5-3 / 17-3).

Virgina battles back to even series at 2 games a piece. (4-3 / 5-4 / 7-5 / 3-1).

PCL Divisional Series

Blues need extra innings to sweep Bearcats. A-Rod belts 2 homers including a 2-run dinger in top of 9th to send it to extra innings. (8-2 / 4-3 / 8-6).

Tijuana pounds back, but not enough as Houston takes series in 4. (2-1 / 13-4 / 12-10 / 8-2).

The final game of the Virginia/Florida thriller is tomorrow night at Maverick Baseball

Back to basics

The Yankees and Blues went back to the basics - pitching - and both evened their series at 2 games on the road.

Atlantic Coast League - Ouch! That hurts!
Game 3 -
New York Yankees 6
Virginia Generals 2

Game 4 -
New York Yankees 6
Virginia Generals 1

The injury bug turns into a flu for the Generals as they now have 4 players out, including 3 starting pitchers.

Pacific Coast League - Welcome back, Bart!
Game 3 -
Bay Area Blues 5
Houston Astros 3

Game 4 -
Bay Area Blues 6
Houston Astros 2

After 10 weeks on the DL, Bartolo Colon comes back in the playoffs with a huge 4-hit, complete game victory for the Blues.

There will be baseball on Friday, folks. And what a series it's been so far. Don't miss the action tomorrow night (even I will have to take a short break from OOTP5), same bat time, same bat place - Maverick Baseball

Virginia Generals are first ACL Champs!

In a startling revelation, at least for Yankee fans, the Virginia Generals, pounded the New York team for 2 more games to win the first Atlantic Coast League crown. Both teams handled the bats well, but in the final 2 games, Virginia outscored New York 16-5. That was all she wrote.

Congratulations on a fine season by Gary Branham's Yankees!

In the PCL, the Bay Area Blues pit Pedro Martinez against Houston's hot bats, but they got him again. Scoring 3 runs in the 2nd inning. The Blues tied it and Pedro held. But in the 8th inning, Jose Cruz, Jr. belted a 382 footer off reliever John Reidling to seal it for the Astros.

Things were looking bleak in the Bay.

Game 6 turned into Reitsma's Revenge. He pitched a dandy in Game 2, only to be out-dueled by Javier Vasquez 2-1. But with Houston trying to close it out, Reitsma was unhittable. He gave up only 2 hits as the Blues shut out the Astros 3-0.

Game 7 takes place in the Bay tomorrow night. Virginia awaits the victor in our LIVE Championship Series on Sunday at Maverick Baseball !
