Traded 3B Beltre 5/5, 3B Hanser Alberto 1/2, and SS Yeyson Yrizarri .5/1.5 for SP Andrew Cashner 4/4, 2B/3B Jedd Gyorko, and MR Zach Lemon .5/3. Beltre is declining and is not part of the 5 year rebuild as he will be over 40 in 5 years. Cashner is a big boost as a starter and he is the oldest player we acquired and is only 28. We are 8-4 and in 1st place and we are pleasantly suprised by how good our Catchers are doing

We have a trade to Announce: We gave up CF Nick Williams .5/3, 3B Jedd Gyorko 4/4, and Closer Kyuji Fujiwaka 2/2 for Dustin Pedroia 4.5/4.5, SP Brian Johnson .5/3.5, and C Sandy Leon 2.5/2.5. Though we hate giving up a prospect in Nick Williams we just couldn't deny landing Pedroia. Sure he is 31 but in 3-5 years hopefully he can still play on some level. Sandy Leon gives us a starting Catcher that is young and we get a promising SP. We are currnetly sitting in 1st place. We are trying to get rid of Gallardo as he is having an ERA in mid 5s.
We brought up SS Josh Morgan as a replacement for Delino DeShields after he went to the DL. He is the first prospect from the prospect watch to be promoted. I will give a more detailed review at all-star break

We have two trades to announce even though they were with the same team

Trade 1: We sent 31 year old OF Antoan Richardson 1/1 for 31 year old RP Shawn Kelley 4.5/4.5. We got a steal on this guy. Shawn was OTB and we got him. He will improve our bullpen alot.

Trade two: 29 year old SP Ross Detweiler .5/.5 for 31 year old SP Josh Johnson 3/3. Got a much needed upgrade at the SP spot for this one, even though we are giving up two years in age.

Quick Review: 43-27, 1st place. Mitch Moreland is doing really good splitting time between 1B and RF. He is batting .303/.391/.667. At first he has a 1.000 Fielding Percentage, along with a +0.5 ZR and a 1.033 efficiency rating. At Starter, Derek Holland is our best man with a 3.16 ERA, an 8-4 record, and a 3.23 K/BB ratio. Joe Johnson when he starts playing based off his SD stats will do okay too. In the bullpen we have two top notch players: Roman Mendez and Shawn Kelly. Kelly hasn't played a game for us yet but did good in SD. Currently, Roman Mendez has a 1.61 ERA, a 4-2 record, a 1.12 WHIP, an OAVG of .221, and a FIP of 2.99. Will report back at all star game. Also with 1st round, 29th pick drafted CL Chuck Miller 1/5. Not any outstanding players after that. Josh Morgan was demoted

Partly disliked it but it was worth it

Traded CF Lewis Brinson 1/4, and SP Derek Holland 2/2 for SP COLE HAMELS 4.5/4.5, MR Jeanmar Gomez, and LF Dayan Viciedo 1.5/1.5

Huge improvement at Starter. Hated giving up Brinson but it's COLE HAMELS. Starting to lean towards win now since we are in 1st place and doing good

We have a trade to announce

We traded 2B Travis Demeritte 1/2.5, SS Juremi Profar .5/2, and MR Tanner Scheppers 1.5/1.5 for MR Hunter Strickland 2.5/2.5, SP Joan Gregorio .5/2.5, and CF Daniel Carbonell 1/2. Like what we got out of this deal. A better Reliever, a decent SP prospect and no one older than 26. Not going to give a review as this trade and my last trade happened within a short timespan

4. Nick Martinez

5. Josh Johnson

Relievers

Middle Relievers

1. Shawn Kelly

2. Neftali Feliz

3. Hunter Strickland

4. Spencer Patton

Vs. RHP with DH

1. Delino DeShields Jr. CF

2. Chris Gimenez 1B

3. Mitch Moreland RF

4. Ryan Rua 3B

5. Robinson Chirinos DH

6. Adam Rosales SS

7. Michael Choice LF

8. Rougned Odor 2B

9. Sandy Leon C

Vs LHP with DH

1. Michael Choice. CF

2. Adam Rosales 2B

3. Chris Gimenez LF

4. Ryan Rua 3B

5. Prince Fielder DH

6. Mitch Moreland RF

7. Robinson Chirinos C

8. Kyle Blanks 1B

9. Josh Morgan SS

Studs

These were guys who played great or above expectations

Shawn Kelly 2.14 ERA

Neftali Feliz 2.64 ERA

Hunter Strickland 0.00 ERA even though it is in only 17 IP

Keone Kela 2.25 ERA

Not many great hitters. Best one is Chris Gimenez hitting .287/.359/.443

Duds

These are guys who played poorly

Sandy Leon- .216/.310/.365 in 74 AB with us. We are hoping that this is just error of sample size. He also has lackluster Fielding Stats since he got here

Adam Rosales-Sure he is a 1 star player but he is still only hitting .235/.284/.401.

Jake Smolinski-Again, a guy with not very high expectations and he has a small sample size of 52 AB but he is hitting .173/.182/.192

Phil Klein-8.10 ERA in 19 games

Anthony Bass- 7.79 ERA in 14 Games

Alex Claudio- 6.95 ERA in 23 games

Prospects to watch

3B Joey Gallo-1.5/5. Will definitely be up come September and is a top 3 option for promotion

C Jorge Alfaro-1/5. No MLB action. Might see it in September even though we have 3 other Catchers in the Minors.

RF Nomar Mazara-1/4.5. Might see September action. Down low on the list for promotion

SS Josh Morgan- 1/5. He has been promoted until we can find a solid Shortstop promoted. Only played 6 games in Major League

RF Michael Choice- He has also been promoted. He is hitting .371/.405/.657 in 35 ABs. His rating has gone down to a 1/4

MR Jake Thompson-Hasn't seen any MLB action. Will probably fall of the Prospect Watch List as he has fallen to a .5/4

MR Alex Claudio- 1.5/5. Saw 23 Games but had a 6.95 ERA

2B Rougned Odor-3.5/4.5. Is batting a .248/.288/.405 which is fairly dissapointing. He has decent defensive stats with a +2.4 zone rating and a 1.019 efficiency rating

CF Delino DeShields JR-2.5/3.5. Falling ratings might lead to him coming off the prospect watch along with the fact that he is kind of a permanent major leaguer and is done in the minor leagues. Batting .274/.312/.394

MR Roman Mendez-4/4.5. Has a 4-3 record with 2 saves and a 3.02 ERA

SS Jurickson Profar-Injured for year

Traded Players Update

Adrian Beltre- Has fallen to 3.5/3.5. Batting .240/.277/.362

Yeyson Yrizarri-Hasn't played

Nick Williams-Hasn't played

Hanser Alberto-Hasn't played

Derek Holland-1.5/1.5. Pitching a 1-1 record with a 3.94 ERA

Lewis Brinson-1/4. He hasn't played

Ross Detwiler-.5/.5. Has played one game with SD

Travis Demeritte-Hasn't played

Tanner Scheppers-Hasn't played

Juremi Profar-Hasn't played

Antoan Richardson-Hasn't played

Jedd Gyorko-Has improved in Boston batting .292/.333/.500

Nick Williams-Hasn't played

Kyuji Fujikawa-in 17 games has a 3.2 ERA.

The Boston Red Sox trade was the one trade where we "lost" you could say. Sandy Leon has been dissappointing. Dustin Pedroia got injured, and Brian Johnson hasn't played but has good potential while Kyuji has been playing good for Boston, Gyorko has improved and Nick Williams is a solid prospect

Rangers acquire another Starter

We traded a struggling Yovani Gallardo 3/3, 5.73 ERA, Jeanmar Gomez 1/1, and SP Kevin Matthews .5/1 for Cliff Lee 4/4. We get a huge upgrade at Starter while getting rid of Gallardo. Also, to be honest I wasn't aware Matthews was part of the deal but no huge loss.

I have noticed a trend that we do a lot of deals with San Diego and Philly

Rangers get a steal on a star Reliever

The Rangers traded RP Anthony Ranaudo 1/1.5 to the Mariners for RP Fernando Rodney 4/4. We are upgrading our bullpen by a lot. Not a lot of downside to this trade except for age, but Ranaudo did not have a lot of upside and we are shifting towards win now .

Well, the first season is over. After a couple of bad slumps we ended with a 79-83 record. I will now do a review of our season. Finished with a 416 score

Studs

These are guys who played great or above standards

RP Hunter Strickland-Finished with a 1.61 ERA in 39 games. Also, he had 9.48 K/9, only 1.25 BB/9, a 7.57 K/BB ratio, a .89 WHIP, an OAVG of .202, and a 2.35 FIP.

RP Fernando Rodney-Playing Primary as our closer, he had a 1.08 ERA with us, along with a 2-1 record along with 10 saves. This is not counting his play in Seattle.

3B Ryan Rua-Batted .272/.327/.505 in 151 games. I am mainly impressed by that slugging percentage, along with 34 homers and 100 RBIs. This was in only 151 games

C Sandy Leon-He is here just because of how much he improved since all-star break. With Texas he batted .220/.347/.399. At one time he had a .280 AVG so a big improvement there

Duds

These are guys who played below expectations or just played bad.

3B Joey Gallo-With an improving rating comes higher expectations. After starting hot he became frozen. Ending up with a .144/.244/.297 stat line.

RP Phil Klein-In 23 games had a 7.03 ERA

SP Andrew Cashner-Had a 5.06 ERA.

Prospects to watch

3B Joey Gallo-2.5/5. Played in 42 games, started in 30. Batted .144/.244/.297

C Jorge Alfaro-1/5. Saw only one game but got demoted because we had a player ready to come off DL and we already had 4 other catchers

RF Nomar Mazara-1.5/4.5. Played in 10 games, started 4 games. Batted .105/.190/.263 but this might just be because of a small sample size.

SS Josh Morgan- 1/3.5. Rating has gone down quite a bit. IN 18 games batted .273/.351/.333. Started 10 of those 18 games.

RF Michael Choice- His overall has gone up to 2 while his potential has gone down to 3.5. In 35 games, 33 started games, he batted .244/.298/.458.

MR Jake Thompson-Wasn't promoted at all. Has a 1/4 rating.

MR Alex Claudio- 2.5/5. In 26 games, had a 1-2 record along wtih a 6.12 ERA

2B Rougned Odor- 4/4. Has played the mosatof anyone on this list. Has layed in 104 games, and started in 80 of those games. He batted .258/.295/.442

CF Delino DeShields JR-2/3. Keeps having falling ratings that might make him fall off this list come next year. Has played in 97 games, started 91 games, and is batting .262/.310/.401

MR Roman Mendez-4/4.5. Has a 7-4 record with 2 saves and a 3.02 ERA in 68 games

SS Jurickson Profar-Injured for year

CL Chuck Miller- Forgot to add him at all star break. We drafted him with 29 pick in draft. Has a 1.5/5 rating. And played in 1 game this year

Traded Players Update

Note: All stats are with current team

Adrian Beltre- Has fallen to 3.5/3.5. Batting .266/.303/.410

Yeyson Yrizarri-.5/1. Hasn't played

Nick Williams-1/2.5, 1 G

Hanser Alberto-1/1. 10 G, .429/.448/.536. That stat line is probably of sample size

Derek Holland-1.5/1.5. 6-8, 4.27 ERA, 16 GS, 16 G

Lewis Brinson-1/4. Played in 1 game

Ross Detwiler-.5/.5. Has played 12 games with SD. 4.26 ERA

Travis Demeritte-1/2.5, 4 G, .091/.167/.091

Tanner Scheppers-2/2, 3-4, 3.39 ERA, 21 G, 9 GS in San Francisco

Juremi Profar-1/2. Played in 1 game

Antoan Richardson-Hasn't played

Jedd Gyorko-2.5/2.5. 80 G, .288/,325/.478. Played pretty well for Boston

Kyuji Fujikawa-4/4. 2-1, 2 Saves, 2.89 ERA

Yovani Gallardo-2.5/2.5. 9-3, 4.30 ERA in 15 games

Kevin Matthews-.5/1. Didn't play

Jeanmar Gomez-1/1, 4-5, 4.52 ERA, 63 Games

Anthony Ranaudo-1/1. 5-3, 3.76 ERA, 12 G

Will report back with trades, FA, and if we cut anyone before arbitration, along with extensions.

Arbitration is costly

After a high estimated arbitration cost we had to cut Leonys Martin. With a low rating, and several dissapoitning seasons we believed we had to avoid that estimated price

Our Arbitration results came in today and we are quite happy with the results. Only one person was payed above 5 million dollars and we had several players receiving arbitration. Andrew Cashner was paid $11,025,000, but we believe he was worth it

Another trade with San Diego

We traded SP Cliff Lee 3/3, 2B/Cf Delino DeShields Jr 2.5/3, and SP Jonathan Hernandez .5/1 for CF Matt Kemp 4/4, RP, Dale Thayer 3.5/3.5, and SS Alexi Amarista 2/2.

We took Several Blows in FA by losing Josh Johnson, Fernando Rodney, and Shawn Kelly. We are try ing to do some salary dump trades to get something in FA

Apparently so. I fI were you I'd have been fine if asked if it was okay to use them. Plus, same teams.
