Guess there's nothing on the back? Fighter, possibly a welterweight, appears to be wearing Tuff-Wear boxing gloves which have been around since at least the 1960s and were manufactured in New York. Wild guess could be an Italian-American boxer. Trying to ID the trainer. Not Ray Arcel, too old.

Unfortunately nothing on the back either. Arcel came to mind for me too but I was thinking this was from the 40s and couldn't be him. Thanks for the gloves I'd cap, that may be a good lead.

Deffinately not Arcel - he didn't look like that until 20 years later with Duran. The out-of-focus fight posters are a give away that it is a gym. Could be any one of hundreds of mid western gyms and thousands of amateurs I suppose

Really hard to identify someone from a single photo. I thought the boxer might be Joe Miceli, but that seems unlikely. You really need another photo from the same period with a name to positively ID a guy.
