The most difficult decision...?

I think one of the most difficult decisions in the game is when you have a guy replacing an injured regular player...and the replacement performs great.. Then when your regular comes back it's tough to decide to keep the replacement or put the expensive regular back in.

How do you guys handle it?

I know in real life regulars almost never lose their job when they get injured and come back -- otherwise no one would ever play hard to avoid being injured.

But it's always so tempting to trade that $10M guy and try and get away with the overachieving replacement.

I almost always give the regular his job back unless he is in the last year of his contract.

If they are of equal talent id always start the one playing better. But if they are Id bet you that replacements' stats balance out. Ive had plenty of players sub in for 2 weeks to even a month and play great. Then when I let them stay they go back to mediocre. The problem, which is also THE BEST part of this game is, that theres never a right or wrong answer.
