Is it possible?

What I would like to do is to have a fantasy league with 10 teams each in two divisions (like real AL and NL) with two sub-leagues in each. I'd like to have a draft with would consist of all real players who played in the 24-team real AL and NL. My two 10-team fantasy teams would draft 40-man rosters and play 162-game schedules, meeting each team in their division 18 times (No Interleague play). One fantasy league would use DH; the other would not. Their would be no minor leagues and no financials.
I do not expect to have anybody lead me by the hand in setting this up (although I certainly wouldn't object to the help!), but I would like to know if this is not possible in OOTP16. In short, I'd like to play fictional teams with actual MLB players from a specific year, but with a 10-team structure instead of a 12-team (or greater) structure.

Short answer until somebody else pipes in with further details: YES.

I'm doing so now. Set up a fictional league in the format you want, make all the players free agents, delete them, import your real historical teams from whatever year you've chosen, make them all free agents, and hold a draft.

Thanks for your response. I'll make the first of what I am sure will be many attempts to create this league....if there's more than one possible interpretation of any step along the way I have an uncanny ability to choose the wrong one!

You just want random debut players? Or players that only played for those 24 teams? #2 will take a lot of time to import those players.

Create a historical league with any year you choose.Random debut, make no changes, start league.
Create a fictional league within the historical league and set it up how you want with those 24 teams. While in Commish Mode mass delete all players in FBL. Coaches also if you want and any fictional FA.
Release all players from historical league. Schedule Inaugural draft or manually assign them or compete to sign them. Should be good to go.
