Removing Short A, Rookie, DSL, VSL

I like smaller formats for roster management. and use only AAA, AA, and A.

I was wondering if there are any developmental issues without having the lower leagues. Example a 18 year old kid out of HS from the draft wouldn't be ready for traditional A ball, but has nowhere else to go and will be overwhelmed.

I assume it eventually balances out as teams would rank potential over current attributes and the quality of A ball would decline.

Any ideas?

Whatever amount of levels you want to use should be fine, the game should handle pretty much any minors setup.

Should be fine. It's a tiny bit cleaner if you set it up the right way from the start, rather than deleting levels after the fact. Doing the latter will result in all of the players being dumped into the free-agent pool, I believe.

That is correct.
To avoid this, you can go into commish mode and delete players from unwanted teams before deleting said teams.

That'll work at any point, but I agree, cleaner from the beginning. In fact, the first thing I do with any new version is whittle each system down to four minor-league teams and make a quick-start file from it.

Good to know. Thanks for the feedback.

Typically I go into commissioner mode and move all minor league players to Triple A and then delete the rookie, short season, VSL, and DSL leagues.

I also delete all of A ball and then create an A ball league so there is only one A level per org.

I also consolidate the two triple a and three (i think AA) leagues.

The only issue I've ran into is players on the DL in the minors don't move levels with this. Pretty easy fix if i just move all 45 POT or higher for all the players that matter.
