Does OOTP 16 use actual L/R splits to determine how a hitter or pitcher performs?

How about for historical players?

Check player ratings tab right next to profile and you will see.

I can't speak to historical but would be surprised if it was not the same.

I believe it works for historical as well for at least the recent history. When you go far enough back, I don't think the data is available...
