Todd Frazier!

Frazier just hit a 2-out Grand Slam to beat the Tigers in the bottom of the 13th inning. It was his 2nd homer of the game and 4th in the last 2 days.

If he is not the starter at third base in the All-Star Game in Cincinnati, it will be a crime.

The question is: Hey, Cincinnati! WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM? The starters for the All Star Game are selected by popular vote. Cincinnati has the All Star Game this year. It is one of the oldest, most popular teams in MLB. So, why aren't Reds fans out there voting? In the fifties, Reds fans voted their whole team as starters for the All Star Game. Lazy.

yet another downside to the popularity-style setup.... while Carpenter is having another solid year and deserves to be on the team, Frazier is having a better year. There's no way he should be almost 3 million votes behind.

One of my favorite players to watch, and I'm glad I get to watch him on daily basis. Seems like a really good guy, too.

They were talking about the All Star voting process on Mike & Mike this morning, and they mentioned that some dude found a way to vote a million times from the same IP address. The entire process is floored when it's online and can be abused.

Infractions: 1/0 (0)
Let the players vote to select the starting lineup, and the manager selects the reserves. End the madness of fan voting.

Well, it was abused before it was online. The Cincinnati fans stuffed ballot boxes back in the 1950's to get the whole NL starting lineup to be Reds. The commissioner stepped in and booted some of them off and then they took the voting away from the fans for a long time.

I do not know why fans have to be included in the voting. I'd rather see the players vote.

I think the fans need to have some say, but not as much as they have now. Maybe make the fan vote worth 25%.

+1,000,000. Frazier is having an outstanding season, and if it weren't for Bryce Harper (who appears to have just suffered a nasty knee injury) and Paul Goldschmidt, he might also have a shot at the MVP. Those two have to cool off at some point, don't they? Long season, lots of time left and all that, but man those two are scalding hot these days.

The players, mgrs, and coaches should vote.
The fans should just be that. ...fans

Disagree. The fans are footing the bill. They should definitely have a say. Perhaps a more limited say is warranted, but they should definitely have a say.

What's a crime is that Joey Votto and Johnny Cueto are not there when the game is in their home ballpark.
