AI Bullpen Frustration

I've had similar outings happen. Recently I was playing Toronto and had a 13 to 2 lead with two outs in the eighth. My pitcher was becoming tired and brought in Anthony Varvaro. He got the last out, so I simmed the next half inning. My team did not score. So I decided to sim the top of the ninth to save a few seconds, not caring if I gave up a few runs. All of a sudden I was down 16-13 and when I checked the box score, the AI left Varvaro in the entire half inning to give up all 14 runs. WTF!

Was the pen tired?

Either way 14 runs is too much.

If I remember correctly, if you sim by inning or half-inning, OOTP does not allow the AI to make substitutions for your team unless you delegate substitutions to the AI/your manager beforehand. If you sim the rest of the game, the AI will take over completely automatically. That's by design.
