Custom League Schedule

Is there a way to create a custom schedule with my league where they only play twice a week (50 games total)?

I do see where I can clear the schedule and start entering the games on my own but I figure that would take a long while to do. I am sure there is an easier way?

You can edit the schedule file directly in a text editor and then import it as long as you are in pre-season.

Have you looked at any GMO schedules? Also in his profile he has a how to on how to create a schedule, depending on the size of your league you can create one in a short time. Last time i created one it took me 2 weeks to perfect.

So I found a schedule that I liked but I am not sure how I import it. I saved it as a text file and tried to import and it gave me an error box. Obviously this is pretty vague information but is there a step by step to bringing the schedule in the correct way?

The header information in the schedule has to match the settings in your game.

If you downloaded one of GMO's schedule files, it should already be an lsdl file. Just put that file in your schedules folder in OOTP Data, then on the edit schedule page you can clear the current schedule then import that one.

Note the name of the file, there are a lot in the folder.

What I do when using those files is add a name to the beginning, like one of my leagues is the BBA, so I edit the file name to put "BBA_" at the start of the name. Then it's easy to find when importing.

i think he needs to know the directory:

they all should be in:

<game directory>\data\schedules

if you downloaded it, just go to that directory when in game and importing the schedule. like others said, get all the settings corrected first, or it will not allow import.

Yes, I mentioned where to put the file in my reply.

I'm going to piggy back off of this. Hope the OP does not mind. notice the game has a lot of schedules to import. Don't have a clue on how to decipher it.

looking for a 162 game schedule with interleague. I have two leagues with three divisions in each. One league 5 teams in one division. 4 teams in another division. the final one has 5 teams. The other league has 5 teams, then 6, then 5. Any help in finding a schedule to import would be appreciated.

Wouldn't happen to know the name of the file to import would you?

Actually the year 2012 would work but wont work for importing. The middle division in on the league wont match.

Nevermind. Got it to work. Swithed a couple of teams around so that it would fit the format. found a schedule to work and it appears it will meet what I want. Thanks Quest.
