Too Many HR's and Errors (newb questions)
This is my first experience with OOTP. I played baseball for many years (HS, Legion, no college ball, also umpired), so I know how the game is played. I'm playing as GM and manager of St. Louis. I've tried this now for three seasons - the Cardinals 1st games are away to CHI and CIN. I've not had a single game without a HR, and in my last series against the Cubs there were 11 HR's and 5 errors between the teams. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Is this an issue that my manager with no reputation is too small time to manage the Cards, or is this just how the game is? I've been using the option to start a new standard game. Thx.

Wait are you saying you see at least one HR in every game for three seasons? That does seem weird. If you just mean over a series or two, how is your pitching set up? Could be some really bad luck.

No, what I'm saying is I started the season three different times to see what was up with the results, and it's been the same every time over the first 6 games. In my 2nd season in the 2nd game we had 3 errors and the Cubs had 1, there were 4 HR in the game total.
The Cards have great pitching - Wainwright, Wacha, Lackey, Lynn, Martinez... Is there just a really strong home field advantage in the game? The first two series against the Cubs and Reds are away from home. |

Sorry for the double-post, but I started again one more time, already 6-1 Cubs in the first game, two home runs so far by the 5th inning, Wainwright pitching.

Not really sure what to say about that- bad luck? Small sample size? I ran the Cubs for several seasons, as well as many other teams, and haven't seen anything like this.

Computer programs can get corrupted for a lot of reasons; people fiddling with it, power spikes, bad load. I've found simply deleting and reloading this game can help. A clean reload re-sets everything and some strange things vanish.

Tried a few more games. Did make 3 errors in the last game, but I also noticed that some of my fielders don't have that high of fielding ratings (weren't out of position), so maybe that could be part of it, but I also tried a couple of games with a different team and it seemed ok so I don't know. Thank you for the replies.
