League Evolution - more/less offense/pitching

Having started in 2015, and now in 2022, it's been my impression that offensive levels have held relatively steady. I have the options for more/less offense and pitching in League Evolution checked and was just curious how often one should expect changes in the run environment.

The levels have been very consistent, with basically no random spikes or anything of the like that we sometimes see in real life. Do things like 1987's one year spike occur? Or does the league evolution setting just result in very gradual changes?

From what I've seen it's pretty random but the big changes like the more/less offense don't happen very often at all. If you have all the options checked usually you see more length of DL and roster size changes.
