The Continental Baseball League

Introducing The Continental Baseball League.

So I decide to do something not quite different. I decided to start in 1871 again but this time but with slightly different teams, with with real players.
Maybe I will contract a team or two and expand when I want to. See if this can work out.

Here are the current teams

I will run the Trenton Minutemen through this adventure.

1871 is in the books with the Boston Patriots sprinting out of the gate. Patriots complied a 13-1 record at the end of July. On the other side of the league the championship came down to the wire with
a single game playoff Troy won over Brooklyn. Ross Barnes was the top hitter in both leagues with his .432 batting average. Troy will go on to sweep the Championship Series over Boston in four games.

1872 saw the very first All-Star game played, the National League defeated the American League 6-2. After an explosive offense trend with home runs being hit, they were toned down. In 1871 saw
Lip Pike hit 9 dingers. Chicago White Stockings made their run for the National League with an 11-4 second half record. in the American League saw Baltimore hold on to a slim one game lead over
Albany. Al Spalding of Chicago saw the very first Pitching Triple Crown (18-12, 2.08 era, 21Ks). Baltimore defeats Chicago in the Series

1873 was almost the year for Boston. Wes Fisler lead the Patriots with his .400 batting average and Boston had the best record (22-8). But it was not to be as Chicago breezed into the championship
series to a sweet sweep in four games This year saw 5 batters over .400 in batting
