How long does it take you to get through a season?
I just finished my first season in OOTP 16. I played out each game in one pitch mode, and it took me about 1.5 or 2 weeks

It takes me about a month to get through a year.
I do a lot of writing and tabulating and perusing every day so that I know my universe inside-out. I used to go a lot faster, but became irritated when I would notice things that had been going on for months or years in my universe that I hadn't noticed before. Or missed someone performing some heroics. |

I am the opposite, I barely play out my games. I do trades/signings, and sim the year completely and stop at certain points to evaluate all my players and make trades if need be. I rarely tinker with lineups besides teaching prospects new positions to get more versatility out of them. I play for the glory of championships basically. I'd like to be more in depth with my league as a whole but I honestly don't know how to go about it. I'm content with the way I'm going currently though, it's fun.
I do play out my playoff games though, all of them. But not pitch by pitch except in certain important spots. |

I spend time on the draft, trades, FA signing, and extensions. Sometimes I'll fiddle with lineups when roster expansion hits. Seasons only take me 25-30 minutes if that. Caveat to that is I'm talking about my fictional indy league world with only an 80 game season and a 2 round draft.
One of the great things about this game is the infinite different ways to play the game. Last edited by ra7c7er; 04-26-2015 at 04:51 PM. |

I play out each game pitch-by-pitch. I could get through a season in two weeks if I ignored every other obligation in my life. As it is, it takes me several weeks to complete a season.

2-3 months to get through my EBL -MLB league, mostly since i have a dynasty thread. My ABF league takes about 2 days since i sim. I am still on season 1 of my Top 5 players which I have been playing since OOTP 14.

Play'em all out one-pitch mode for me that's a solid 5 months.
GM only more like 2 months.

Guess I'm slow. I use one pitch mode and finish a season in about 11-12 weeks.

I play out all my game from start to finish tho I skip spring training and it takes me about a week. It depends on how my team is doing. If I am winning all the time it's easy to breeze thru a season but a losing team is a little rougher lol

Ten days to 3 months depending on what else I'm doing.

Wow you guys take a while. I can get through a season in an hour if I'm really focused, but usually it's 3 to 4 hours per season. I don't play out any regular season games.

About a day per season, though my new fictional league should be about 2-3 weeks since there are a lot of teams (4 30 team major leagues with full minors and feeders, plus one Indy league of 24 teams.)

I usually play out every game, one swing pitch mode for the first season... Then for all seasons after I usually start out the same way and as I get 60%-70% through the season I usually sim the games with my weak picthers and play out the starting 3 in the rotation. Since launch day I've made it through 2 season and am on my 3rd!

I GM only and can be pretty hands off and look at the team in trends, I dont pay too much attention to the rest of the league and whats happening to be honest, just focus on my team, I can do a season in 10-12 hrs. I may only play out the playoff games, even then I let the manager make the decisions.

I GM, and play/watch in pitch-by-pitch mode for all big league games in my fictional league, including ones not including my team, plus all minor league games involving my organization (5 levels of minors). It roughly takes 10-12 months per season.

About 2 months if I'm playing every game. 2-4 weeks if I'm simming, depending on how often I play. I much prefer playing out every game.

15 to 19 days for playing out my games, minus ST. I just keep an eye the players in ST. Then two days for off season, follows my strict rules of trying not to have anyone signed past 35 unless they are career teamers!
