Dynasty-Kansas City
Today, xepicx2729 was signed as the manager of the Kansas City Brigadiers.
Hello all! My name is xepicx2729 and I'm the new manager of the Kansas City Brigadiers, Today I will give my roster evaluation, and division evaluation. Minor League Prospects: SP Luis Rodríguez, 19, Costa Rica, R Currently projected to be a reliever and could develop into a mid-rotation starter. He has 20/20 stamina, which means he could be a mop-up guy as well. C Ken Holmes, 24, USA L/R Moreover a potential backup catcher, decent defense, average batting. Nothing to get excited about. LF/RF William Kline, 22, USA S/L Slow, but has nice gap and homerun power and a rocket arm. Most likely will be used as a RF if he develops correctly. Major League Roster: Rotation: 1. SP Pedro Negrón, 24, Mexico, R Young stud who doesn't have a lot of stamina. Hits 95-97 on his 19 fastball. Rated 20/16/15 with 7 stamina and 3 hold runner. Really good batting pitcher. 2. SP Francisco Gonzáles, 32, Nicaragua, R Borderline starter, another decent batter, 92-94 mph fastball. His 16 movement is impressive (as is Negrón's) and 16 control is a bonus as well. 3. SP Paul Sims, 30, USA, R Beautiful bunt, with a gold glove to go with it. Velocity is really low on the fastball (89-90) but another 16 movement pitcher. Nice stamina. 4. SP Jeffrey Stone, 34, USA, L SO BAD at anything involving a bat. Slow fastball (87-89), only left-handed starter. Nice control, but that's about it. 5. SP Stanley Brown, 31, USA, R Great bunt and glove, velocity is just like Sims (89-90) on the fastball. Doesn't have great stuff, but he has a decent changeup. Bullpen: MR Casey Adams, 33, USA, L Can't do anything with a bat, but is the opposite with his glove. Has terrible control issues (7/20) and hits 92 on the cutter. MR Ed Myers, 27, USA, R Throws a nasty slider, but you can't say the same about his changeup. Decent velocity (91-93) but isn't a star on any team. MR Michael Jennings, 29, USA, L Great batter, might get the occasional start. Has nice movement but isn't great in too many other aspects. If any starter gets hurt, most likely will move to starter. MR José Alfaro, 23, USA, L Velocity is low at 87-89 yet is projected to start. Sorry bud, not happening soon. Maxed out at 10/10/9 with 14 stamina, might be our mop-up pitcher. SU David Welch, 24, Puerto Rico, R Surprisingly enough, he might be moved to the rotation at some point in the near future. He has a lot of development left, but his 16 stamina and borderline starter make him a nice piece for the team. SU Brad Bass, 29, USA, R So many slow throwing stiffs. 87-89 mph fastball projected starter as the secondary setup. Well, at least I know which position is a priority in the draft. CL Ricardo Ramos, 26, USA, R Why don't you guys just shoot me now. A starter is my closer. Best bunter on the team, hits 90-92 on his cutter. Ugh, this is gonna be bad. Batter Positions: C Carlos Delgado, 36, USA, S/R Isn't this a surprise? An old, past his prime catcher. His arm isn't all that impressive either. C/1B Bradley Rickard, 29, Australia, R/R What do you know? My backup is a better batter than my starter. Same arm behind the plate as well. Maybe Holmes will end up starting after all. 1B Kevin Picot, 28, USA, L/L Only a starter against righties, but he has some power (against righties of course.) Nice defense but would be a full time player if he could hit lefties. 2B Robert Marsh, 23, USA, R/R Defensive star. Barely a starter now, but should slightly improve in the future (I hope he does). 2B,SS,LF,CF Gunner Casey, 27, USA, R/R Penciled in as the full-time SS even though his defense is lacking there. At least the guy knows how to not strikeout a bunch. 3B António Trinidad, 32, USA, S/R Defensive star. Full time starter. Hopefully does well or else...our team is in the pits. SS,2B,3B,CF Luis López, 30, USA, S/R Nothing more than a pinch runner or defensive sub to me. Can't hit lefties at all. LF/CF/RF Ken Cline, 24, USA, R/R Kid has a cannon and a great defensive ability in left. Bad baserunner with poor batting abilities. Full time starter, but sometimes in right. 1B/LF/CF/RF Corey Russell, 23, USA, R/R Will most likely only be used as a pinch runner this year, Defensive substitute, maybe. Can't hit righties. 1B,LF,RF José Vázquez, 37, Cuba, L/L Cannot run. At all. 1/1/1. Hopefully retires because his time is calling. LF/CF/RF Rob Bane, 35, USA, R/R Full-time starting CF, which is his only defensive position above a 5. Nothing of a speedster but at least can get on base. LF/RF Gabriel Bender, 35, USA, R/R Congrats! You get to cheer on another old player who has no place anywhere on the depth chart! Man this team is all about the struggle. 1B/LF/RF Robert Bennett, 28, USA, L/L Starts in right almost all the time, but doesn't have the arm for it. (12/20) But, the guy can bat so I won't complain. Well, that concludes our team review. Next, the division review! Atlanta Acorns: Weaker rotation, stronger in everything else. Everything. Austin Purple Warriors: Weaker rotation, stronger pen, tied in everything else. Houston Blue Sharks: Weaker rotation, equal bullpen, better lineup. Sacramento Zealots: Better in everything except outfield. So, there you have it. Our outstandingly crappy team will hope to finish 4th in the division. (I want a 75-87 record, but I know I'm asking for a lot there.) Season begins next post. Last edited by xepicx2729; 04-06-2015 at 06:40 PM. |

The game does produce many slow throwing guys -under 90mph. I wish that was adjusted

Nice review. How many teams? Did you draft? Financial enabled?

Didn't draft, though I definitely wish I did. 6 divisions, 30 teams, Financial enabled.
![]() As do I. It really makes having a good team harder. Last edited by xepicx2729; 04-07-2015 at 06:54 PM. |

I'm also assuming you just started. My suggestion is look over your financials and see if you can trade some high price guys to start.

In that case see if there are some high priced veterans around better than your players with only 1 year left on contracts and you can probably get for practically nothing.

First things first: Look at the free agent pool. 4 players caught my eye, and I made offers to 3. None wanted a major league deal, but I assume they'll all be promoted.
Next, I shopped around Stone. I don't want the 34 y/o in my rotation as I feel he is unreliable. What we got for him surprised me. Ramos (our closer) got himself the #5 spot in the rotation. Stone ended up allowing us to acquire 27 y/o, 3.5 star catcher José Flores. In addition, we got a career minor league pitcher (but you never know with this team) and a potential backup first-baseman. We opened our season at home against The Bronx Wranglers. Game 1: Negrón vs. Vera Vera is a 35 y/o ace. Yep. 35. Negrón started off bad, with a groundout, a walk, a double, an rbi single, and then two more outs. Finally, we bounced back by tying the game up in the bottom of the 2nd. The 5th inning was a disaster. 3 unearned runs came in. By then all hell broke loose. Entering the 9th it was 6-3. Well, I can now say Bass sucks terribly. He gave up 4 in 1.2 innings, Trinidad tried to stop the bleeding with a solo shot in the 9th, but the inevitable came. 9-4 Bronx. All three free agents signed. Michael Huff became the starting CF. The other two are in the minors. Game 2: Gonzáles vs. O'Higgins O'Higgins is a 36 y/o ace. Hmm. A very boring game to say the least. No extra base hits brought in a run (3 doubles combined) and it was a true pitchers duel. Gonzáles went 7.2 and got a no decision, O'Higgins went 7.2 and got a loss. Final score: 2-1 Kansas City Game (2) 3: Apparently my game broke :/. It says that game 2 was never on schedule yet I still have the win. Whatever. (Season for us will most likely be 163 games) Sims wins 3-2. Not much else to say because of the bug. Game 3?: Brown vs. Queixo A wonderful game with Brown getting the loss due to a bug. Ugh. Bronx takes it 6-5 even though both teams mustered up 3 in the final inning. Man this game has bugs. Series Fun Fact: Delgado (who was our starting catcher till we traded Stone), struck out in his only pinch hit attempt. What a player! Other news: 2 week or less injuries for us, Marsh and Bane. Another guy made the news with a one day injury. Well then. Dave Craig of the Celtics goes 5-5 against Milwaukee. Last edited by xepicx2729; 04-06-2015 at 09:49 PM. |

I took a chance and made an offer to the 4th player I was looking at. Our next series was against the Omaha Mavericks.
Game 4: Ramos vs. Valentin Well, this game ended in the first 3 innings. We jammed 7 runs into the first 3 innings and slacked batting the rest of the game. Which was fine because we won 7-2. The free agent signed. Game 5: Negrón (0-1, 3.60) vs. Gibson We can thank Gibson for 4 runs in the first, which decided the 7-3 outcome. 2 homeruns assisted our efforts. Game 6: Paul Sims (0-0 0.00) vs. Hinojosa (0-0 6.00) Well, Hinojosa was bad his first start. His second? Gave up a run. We lose 9-1. Sims lasted 5.2 before being pulled. Well we've been average so far. Oh, I decided to see if Vázquez was ready for his first start: he had one of our 2 hits this game....it was a solo shot. I trust him a lot more now. Other News: April 4th: Now Milwaukee gets a 5 hit batter in Diego Villareal, oh, right. Milwaukee gave up 5 hits to a batter twice already as Mauro Santana hit 5 in this game too. Wyatt Elliott is the third player of the day to hit 5 hits (yet he is not on Milwaukee or The Bronx). April 5th: 2-game suspensions are handed out. Nothing special here. But, 38 y/o SP Carl Jenkins is out for 14 months. Retiring might be his best option. April 6th: POTW awards are handed out. We didn't receive one. Last edited by xepicx2729; 04-06-2015 at 09:50 PM. |

Another home series begins against the Sacramento Zealots (great name there).
Kansas City (3-3) vs. Sacramento (5-1) Game 7: Gonzáles (0-0 1.17) vs. Spencer (0-0 1.35) Well, after giving up 3 homeruns, one of which a 3 run shot, I can conclude that our team is terrible. Spencer had a great outing, giving up 1 run in 7.1 innings. 8-1 Sacramento. Game 8: Brown (0-1 3.00) vs. Murphy (0-1 9.45) My only hope is that Murphy stinks this game. My only hope. And so I did. And we lost anyway. Flores was the only one making a true effort going 3-4 with a double and a solo shot. Jennings picks up a loss and a blown save. Big whoop. 6-4 Sacramento Game 9: Ramos (1-0 0.00) vs. Hurtado (0-0 12.27) Once again, I hope we can at least get one win this series. Ramos was good his first start. We were tied....till the 9th....6-3 Sacramento. Bennett jacked a solo shot. Best thing that happened all game long. Other News: April 7th: Dobbe Rodenburg one-hits the Wichita Swat. April 8th: Iván Cruz, a 38 y/o outfielder is out for the year with a torn labrum in his shoulder. April 10th: Dave Craig, the first player to accumulate 5 hits in a game, signs a 2 year extension with the Pheonix Celtics. Well, many trades will be made soon. Many, Last edited by xepicx2729; 04-07-2015 at 08:55 PM. |

This series I'm confident because El Paso's name is the Beefeaters. Hopefully, we make them eat the meat of the baseball.
Kansas City (3-6) vs. El Paso (3-6) Game 10: Negrón (1-1 3.27) vs. Krause (0-1 14.54) Krause gives me confidence for this game. And indeed we should have. But it didn't save. 164 game season I suppose. 6-1 Brigadiers Game 10: Sims (0-1 2.70) vs. Torres (0-0 1.50) Well what a game now. Damn. And we lose 8-7. This bug annoys me. We're now 5-7 (3-7 actually). Game 11: Gonzáles (0-1 3.55) vs. Sakamoto (1-0 3.38) I give up at the moment. Wait....a combined 3 hit shutout? Hell Yeah! After I trash Delgado (who before the game was 1/10 with 5 K's) smacks 2 doubles. Hell yeah! 1-0 Brigadiers Game 12: Brown (0-1 4.26) vs. Gardner (0-1 14.09) Another bode of confidence. Ah. Another win? Yep. 11-10 in extra innings. Flores and Bennett hit 3 run shots and Vázquez added a solo smack. Negrón picked up win number 3 in relief. Yep. Other news: April 10th: Atlanta star 38 y/o CF Miller is out for two weeks. April 11th: Outlawz outfielder Sakata is out for 4 months. April 12th: Hustlers 1B James Carey goes 5-5 against Fort Worth. April 13th: POTW awards are handed out. Injured Sakata earns one. April 14th: Martín Encarnación resigns with the Swat for 2 years at 20.6 mil a year. We trade away Jennings for a backup 1B and every outfield position, Tim Hayden. Miguel Martínez, the 4th free agent signing of the year, replaces Jennings in the pen. Next Series: 5-7 Kansas City vs. 7-5 Milwaukee
Game 13: Ramos (1-0 1.93) vs. Davis (0-1 5.14) Interesting matchup. Davis is a young fireballer. This game wasn't really close from the beginning. 6 runs in 3 innings won it for us. Ramos' ERA is still low. 9-4 Brigadiers Game 14: Sims (0-1 5.40) vs. Clemente (0-0 5.84) Hoping Sims can tone down his walk count. And....Sims blew it in the first inning giving up 3....and we lost 3-2. He didn't give up another run every inning after. Ugh, 3-2 Silver Sabres Game 15: Gonzáles (1-1 2.29) vs. Graham (1-1 4.19) Well, we got off to a good start, And so we won. Gonzáles went an amazing 7. 8-3 Brigadiers Other news: April 15th: Fernando Morales, a star reliever is out for 7 months and the year. Lucky for us, the Zealots outfielder Blondell is out for 3-4 weeks. Hopefully we'll play them in that span (which we aren't). April 16th: Milwaukee oufielder Cecil Lewis gets injured playing us. We won't see his team during his injury span. When I said lots of trades were happening, I meant it. We trade away (crap) Sims for 3.5 star 1B prospect Larry Lerma, 1.5 star MR Edgar Camacho, and 1.5 star OF Clancy Phillips. Last edited by xepicx2729; 04-16-2015 at 02:41 PM. |

Onto the next!
Tuscon Leopards (5-10) vs. Kansas City Brigadiers (7-8) I expect a clean sweep. Game 16: Bass (0-0 1.17) vs. Clark (2-1 4.35) And this was an interesting game. Bass goes 6 and looks okay, and then our relief looks good till Cline (who was substituted for Picot) in the 12th inning lets the run score and only gets one out....Nice play smarty. 4-3 Tuscon Game 17: Negrón (3-1 2.41) vs. Clarke (1-2 3.44) Another game against a Clark(e) in a row. Trinidad won it in the first inning, with a 2-run shot. Negrón struck out 7 in 6.2. 5-1 Brigadiers Game 18: Brown (0-1 5.00) vs. Landry (0-2 2.33) The statline here shows how little support Landry gets. And Trinidad ends it in the first inning, again. His 3-run shot beat the 2 runs of Tuscon. 4-2 Brigadiers. Other News: April 17th: Adrian Johnson smacks 5 hits against Detroit. April 18th: We snag up 2 more free agents for nothing. John Maddox goes deep thrice and he isn't the guy you'd expect to do it. He is the first to do it as well. April 19th: Well, we won't have to deal with Allen Buchanan when he comes to town, out for 2 weeks. And POTW awards are handed out and we are still empty-handed.
