My very first no-hitter, with my worst starter ever
After many many years of playing OOTP I've just finally recorded my first no-hitter in a game I've actually played out.
And the strangest thing is I did it with one of the worst starters I've ever used.
I almost always play with the Tigers, and they've had some very dominant pitchers over the past few seasons. Verlander has won countless Cy Youngs for me in previous OOTPs, and has had many no-hitters in simmed games, but never really came close in a game I've played out. I even watched Scherzer have a no-hitter broken up on the last out of the game before. But I've never been able to complete the deed until now.
This year I decided to change things up and try the management-only option, to take away my ability to build a dynasty within a few seasons by making better moves than the AI would make. After the AI decided not to re-sign David Price (even though he was asking for peanuts), I was left with a much weaker starting rotation in 2016 than I normally go with.
And then after an injury I had AAA call-up Buck Farmer as my #5 starting pitcher, and he's the one that was able to make history for me, despite being listed at 28 overall on an 80 point scale.
Just had to share this. I've been so close before, and it's been an OOTP goal of mine for a long time. It's nice to finally record my first no-hitter.
