Mount Rushmore with a twist

Love the Mount Rushmore thread, so I thought I would start another one. I think all of us have favorite players. Those favorite players often are what endears us to a team and makes us root for the team our entire lives. I think this is especially true of the players we loved as kids. So give me your favorite teams Mount Rushmore made up of the 4 players that made you a fan.

I'm a Detroit Tiger fan, born in 1964

Willie Horton, Aurelio Rodriguez, Jack Morris and Alan Trammell.

Growing up watching WGN, I'd put these 4 on my Cubbies list too.

I still love Jose Canseco. I would have to find a place for him. But who to get rid of?

It would be hard to put Canseco over any of those guys, but yea, I still have fond memories of him.

Cardinals All-Time:

Stan Musial
Lou Brock
Bob Gibson

The fourth is tough. Rogers Hornsby? Dizzy Dean? Red Schoendienst? Ken Boyer? Albert Pujols? Ozzie Smith? You couldn't really go wrong with any of those guys.

Personal:

Ozzie Smith
John Tudor
Willie McGee
Vince Coleman
(You can kinda tell what year I really became a fan... )

My first year collecting baseball cards and Little League was 1958. So Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford and Hank Bauer were my four. Since I wore number 9, Bauer was my hero.

However when I got glasses in 1959, Rhyne Duren quickly became my hero.

Long before the World Series years, these four gave us plenty of enjoyment. We were so lucky to have Pat Gillick as the architect of the organization. Honourable Mention to Alfredo Griffin because for some strange reason, it seems like whenever I went to a game, he came up big. Weird.

Hmmmm...

Puckett, Radke for sure. Others that would get a mention would be (in no particular order) Punto, Mientkiewicz, Knoblauch, Hrbek, Steinbach, Molitor all for different reasons.

Tigers fan born '74:

Trammell, Whitaker, Morris, Lance Parrish

If managers could be included I would replace Parrish with Sparky Anderson.
If it were just to say the best I've seen play for the Tigers I'd go with:

Cabrera, Trammell, Whitaker, Verlander
