Instructions to Bring Seasons over doesn't work.
Here are the instructions that Sebastian sends via email which are exactly the same as last year and which didn't work last year:
Quote:
I think I had difficulty with this last year, because this is the exact same message I got last year. American IPads have NO app called "Apps". We have the "App Store' but there is no selection for File Sharing or anything along that line. There are five choices at the bottom (no 'scroll down' capabilities). I have Featured, Top Charts, Explore, Purchased and Updates. I went into Settings and discovered a "Sync with Itunes" feature, but I don't think that is it. I can share MLB Mgr with my wife. I have THAT set up (not that she'd ever play it) So I am stuck. I think this needs to be updated for us American folks. I have a pretty standard IPad setup. ============== Last year I 'bit the bullet' and bought all the seasons because I never got a satisfactory answer to this. I am not doing that again! These instructions really need to be clarified. =============== |

I think the problem is in step #3. It states "Go to your device and select "Apps"". The intent is that it's done in iTunes because the previous step says to start iTunes. However, it could easily be interpreted as "Now that iTunes is started, pick up your device and select Apps" since "go to" can be ambiguous.
A rewording of #3 to "In iTunes, click on your device and select the Apps item in the Settings list." would likely solve the problem. |

Exactly what I interpreted it as....
I have never thought of my computer as a 'device' (altho technically it is).
Also, I have been in ITunes 3 times (twice for iOOTP/MLBgr). It took me three emails to get it all done. If I could, I would create a 'pretty' step by step for folks like me. I used to do that all the time in training material. I can't seem to be able to put text after a pic. The pic doesn't load in the box, yet shows on the Preview. Additionally......... your suggestion: Quote:
3. While in ITUNES (on your COMPUTER), select "Apps". Make it very, very clear. Last edited by Leefoo; 03-27-2015 at 03:13 PM. |

So, Sebastian told me...very misleading.
In Step 2, he says "connect your device to the computer" than in step 3 he says "go to your device". Where is the logical place to go to? Your device that you just connected to the computer, right? It never dawned on me that he meant ITunes.... And even after I discovered it was ITunes, I had some trial and error stuff to get through. Those instructions need updated, badly. If I had supplied those types of instructions when I was a trainer, they would've gotten another trainer. ![]() ![]()

I finally got this to work. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out the instructions. The instructions given by Sebastian are confusing.

I mentioned the confusion to Sebastian. Hopefully, he updates them. If not, there's always the forum and he does help. However, I would think, to save on emails to him, he would update the instructions. |

Hey All:
Sorry about the trouble with this. Andreas had asked me about a week ago to go through Sebastian's instructions and update them accordingly, but I didn't have a chance to do so until today. I went through the process with my iPad and edited Sebastian's instructions so they're clearer. If anyone is curious, here's what I told them they should now be. LMK if you have any edits to this. Thanks. - Brad 1. Save the file named “hist_export.dat” on the computer that you will connect your device to 2. Completely close MLB Manager 2015 on your device (double-click the home button and swipe up (or tap the X in the top left corner of the icon in older versions of iOS) to completely close the app — simply exiting it doesn’t close it as it will keep running in the background; also, restarting your device doesn’t automatically close it) 3. Connect your device to your Computer and start iTunes 4. Click your device in the pane on the left side in iTunes (it’s listed under “Devices”) 5. While viewing your device in iTunes, click “Apps” (it’s the second option to the right of “Summary,” along the top) 6. Scroll down to the section headed “File Sharing” 7. Click the MLB Manager 2015 app listed under “File Sharing” 8. In the box on the right, under “MLBM 2015 Documents,” click the “Add…” button 9. Locate the “hist_export.dat” file in the dialog window and click “Add” — the file should now show up in the list 10. Start MLB Manager 2015 on your device 11. Tap “Buy Seasons” on the start screen. Then tap the “Import iOOTP 2014 seasons” button at the bottom. A pop-up will inform you that the import has been a success; tap “OK.” 12. Tap the “Return” button in the bottom right corner to go back to the start screen. Start a new game and select an historical season — All your purchased seasons should be available to choose from. |

Email Sebastian...see the 'sticky' message he put on the board.
However, don't expect Saved Games to come over. EDIT....As I just learned, you can import them over via IFUNBOX. See below. Last edited by Leefoo; 03-30-2015 at 10:05 PM. |

You can move saved games over with a 3rd party utility.

Instructions to Bring Seasons over doesn't work.
To move a saved game.
I use iFunBox with a non-jailbreak phone. Take your entire Saved Game folder for example Game 3.lg from the directory iOOTP 2014/Documents/saved_games and save to your computer. Then move it to directory MLBM 2015/Library/saves/iOOTP2015/saved_games. |

I have the same problem as mentioned earlier, i.e. no, 'file sharing' option. Also, I could never get the seasons I bought for 2013 to transfer to 2014. So can I transfer to those bought seasons in 2013 directly to MLBM, or do I have to do it to 2014 first, then to MLBM? Also, as a question above, one has to connect the 'device' (i.e. iPad or iPhone) to the computer first before you can save the 'hist_export.dat” file', right? Or...?
Thanks Brad! |

#3 should read
"Start up ITunes ON YOUR PC"
just for clarification....some of us idiots thought we needed the ITunes app running on our IPAD .

I'd do a step by step, but I am on my IPad right now. But it was fairly easy once I realized I needed IFUNBOX on my PC and not my iPad.

I am asking about how to transfer the purchased seasons from iOOTP 2013 to MLB Manager 2015.
And thanks for the clarification RE step 3: I've asked that be added so it's clear where iTunes should be running. |

I have purchased the entire historical season pack on iootp 2014. I have followed the instructions exactly and only a handful of teams transfer over. I have contacted Sebastian and he said it is impossible but I sent him a picture and requested assistance.
Any ideas? |

The new version of iTunes no longer has the App/File Transfer option.
Any suggestions? |
