OOTP has a keep a human player mediocre bias

Yup, it's true. No matter what I do, my teams finish .500. No better, no worse. Dumb moves, .500. Smart moves, 500. I even tried playing the game completely naked, 500. Covered in butter, 500. While watching Lifetime, 500. Damn it, I'm so ordinary.

Way too much information.

Well if I provided less, I would surely have someone bring up small sample size. Since my original post, I've also tried playing dressed like OPRAH and guess what, .500.

So, in other words, camping and being in the outdoors in a tent doesn't help? Good to know, I was considering my options.

I almost think its the opposite. I have only won 1 world series ever (I do play stats only), but, I am usually a guy who hovers around .500 and makes the occasional playoff run.

However, this current MLB quick start I am in has me with the best record in baseball with the Rays. I'm not nearly as doom & gloom on us IRL as many might be, but, I am also shocked I am in August and 32 games over .500. I'm just waiting for some catastrophic injury.

Right now Nick Franklin is playing out of his mind and I have had some great performances from my entire pitching staff. Starters and bullpen combined have been eating up opposing hitters.

Try fully clothed but covered in butter while watching Lifetime. I've had some success with that.

There are some things you can't just unsee, once you've imagined them. Wow.

Before I try this, can I ask what how you explained all the butter on your clothes to your wife?

I think it really comes down to the brand of butter your purchasing... are we talking Land O' Lakes? Kerry Gold? Organic Valley?

In all seriousness, it definitely seems to me that that quickstart is overrating the Braves and Rays in 2015. Somehow the Rays always win the East, and the Braves are always a wild card team. The former seems unlikely, and the latter seems laughable.

Braves actually had the worst record in the league in this sim and after starting 75-40, we finished 14-33 down the stretch and barely made the playoffs as a Wild Card lol - crazy finish to the year.

Does the butter go under or over the clothes?
