Will OOTP4 look normal on my 800x600 screen? Or will it be "recommended" for a higher resolution?

pretty sure the higher resolution is the recomended one. Need the extra screen room.

I think that by what another tester mentioned in another thread that it probably depends on your video card. Is it fairly new? If not, to upgrade isn't very expensive.

I have a PII 400 pc and bought a GeForce 2 MX card last year, it has made a world of difference in extending my pc's life. I just purchased Castle Wolfenstein 3D and it runs smooth at 1024X768.

My unle just upgraded to the same card for $59. Check pricewatch.com for the best prices.
