My Lineups Keep Changing

Been a while since I played OOTP just got 16. Started a fictional league as GM/Manager. Went through the process of creating lineups and pitching roles. When I went to play my first game of the season my lineup had changed. It's not a L/R issue because I use the same lineup for both and all of my players were rested. I'm not using 7 day lineups. I've never seen this happen before. Could the bench coach be changing my lineups? I'm the manager and have it set to make all game decisions. Like I said it's been awhile so maybe I just don't remember. Is this normal.

Do you actually have control of the team? Did you apply for the manager job?

That's the first thing I checked. I'm setup to be GM/Manager. When I play the games out I make all game decisions. Nothing is left to the AI.

But did you actually go to the Available Jobs screen and apply for one of them?

bench coach makes lineups when something changes like if a player goes on DL or if a player tired then it would use Bench coach suggestions then we would have to make changes on our own to overrule the bench.

It was the first game of the season. All of my players should have been rested and injury free. Whatever the cause it benched some of the guys I chose to start and then rearranged my batting order.

I didn't apply for a job because I chose a team to run when I created the league.

Some of my guys I chose to start were benched and my batting order was rearranged. I've double checked everything. I'm in control of the team as GM/Manager. My game settings have me set to make all in-game decisions. I'm not even using the assistant GM for anything. My first thought was maybe he did it. My next thought was bench coach or 7 day lineups. 7 day is off. Maybe my bench coach decided to help me out.

I'm stumped then. Do you have a meddling owner? I don't even know if it matters. But I'm at a loss.

when you start your game and does it say lineups or all the decisions and stuff to be done by you or bench ???? there is that option on the lineup page

Keep in mind that if you sim games and do not use 7-day lineups the AI will put its lineup preferences ahead of yours.

I am having the same issue. I added John Olerud and Roberto Alomar to my 1985 Bluejays team and have tried several times to insert them into the lineup and each time it defaults back to the 1985 lineup even after changing the 7 day lineup. This morning I tried clearing depth and lineups and manually entering them but haven't had a chance to test it yet.
