Is It Not Possible to Set Schedule Length to 0 Anymore?
Created a league, simmed for 3 years, and now I want to set the schedule length to 0, but every time I try the game crashes. Does that just not work anymore?
"Why would you want a season 0 games long?", you ask? Simple: that was my work-around to "retire" a league (or put it on hiatus). It would be nice if an option for that was built right into the game and as easy as putting a check in a box, but it's not, so if I wanted a league to cease operations (the Federal League or the Negro Leagues, for example) but still wanted to be able to look back thru its history without being forced to delete it from the game, that was what I did (along with disabling spring training, the postseason, financials, trading, the draft, etc.). Am I totally SOL on that now, or is there some other way of doing this? |

If you delete a league, the history will remain. There is no reason I can see for your work around.
Besides, even though those leagues played 0 games, they still felt the need to supply themselves with players..... |

But what about a league I want to put on hiatus? For example, the American Association disbanded after the 1962 season, then re-formed for 1969. I used to be able to recreate that, having 6 seasons of no games and then start up again. But now if I delete the league after 1962, then create a new version for 1969, it's not going to take the history of the old, deleted version and start adding to it just because they have the same name, is it? (And as far as the league still stocking itself with players, that's true, but with the draft turned off teams would just automatically add a few new players every year, who would then sit around and gather dust along with the rest of their teammates...) |

Just because it has the same name, does not mean it really has any relation to the old league. And even if you believe otherwise, that is a rather small issue that would probably require a big effort to fix. |

![]() You say "new league" and "old league" and point out that there's no reason they should share histories just because they share a name, and in the case of something like the AA maybe that's true--you could argue that the one that began in 1969 was an entirely new league, separate from the one that ended in '62. But what if I want to simulate a league that's suspending operations for just a season or 2, either for financial reasons, or because there's a war on, or whatever? Maybe it would require a big fix now, but in previous versions (definitely 12; not sure about 13-15) it was possible to have a season that was 0 games long. I guess I'm just hoping to get definitive word from Markus or Matt that this isn't the case anymore, so that I know for sure that it's not just a bug, or me doing something wrong... |

Please post in the bug report thread... the game should definitely not crash. What did you do exactly to make it crash? The code doesn't indicate anything here on the game setup screen.
