OOTP advertisement on MLB.com

I was just on mlb.com looking for the OOTP advertisement, and I have to say I do not think they are doing as much as they could in promoting OOTP.

Nothing about OOTP in the fantasy tab, though there is for the upcoming RBI Baseball 18. There is nothing in the app section of the website. If you go into the fantasy section, the OOTP ad is hidden on the bottom of the page, and it is the ad to the 2016 iteration of the game. RBI Baseball, on the other hand, is promoting the upcoming 2018 version of their game.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I do think the MLB website should be doing more to increase OOTP's visibility, at least updating the advertisement.

MLB has no "need" to promote OOTP... though it would help their bottom line, wouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure advertising costs money.

I suppose I am mistaken but I figured that the payment and subsequent ads would be part of licensing agreement, and that is why the OOTP 17 ad went up in the first place.

of course i don't know the details, but licensing fees cost money. purchasing a license shouldn't require the company to advertise.

If you were making a game and wanted my artwork to help you sell it, i wouldn't be obligated to also advertise for your game. I just provided the artwork.

I'm living in the past. From the thread title, I thought the message was going to be "Ooh, ooh, they're advertising OOTPB on MLB.com!!" Instead, it is to complain that we are not featured prominently enough.

Which is not a knock on you, Brad, just an indication of how much this game has come up in the world. It's nice to see. Thanks for sharing this.
