I've been wondering about this issue for quite some time: It appears that 95% of all bunts are fielded by the pitcher. (This, of course, would be the exact opposite of what truly happens in real life).
My guess (not based on any real life statistics) is that the first, third, and catcher players field about 90% of all bunts while the pitchers only field about 10%. ANYONE AGREE WITH ME ON THIS? I wish there was some way of proving my statement statistically!! Has any research been done on this? Dave "an inquiring mind wants to know" |

The firstbaseman fields his share of bunts.

That doesn't match what I have seen in the game at all.

Same here. I had the corners in and the putout was 5-4 at 1B.
