How did this guy win the gold glove in LF?
I trust OOTP gold glove deciding skills but this one is really odd. I've never had someone so bad win a gold glove before. Just for reference, on the 1-8 scale, his defense ratings were 3 range, 5 error, 8 arm.
edit: Forgot to add picture. I will do it below. |

What were the defensive stats? That will tell you more than the ratings.
Wow perfect timing!

I'm looking at other leftfielders around the league, and I'm seeing that the injury bug must have hit all the LF around the league. The guy above played the MOST games with 117! The next most in the NL played 92 games and was a much better defender but I guess he did not play enough to deserve it.

Do you have the game saved? Silly question. You might want to create a ticket and send the zipped dat files to OOTPD.

Hhaha a -13.9 rating and he wins the gold glove. There's hope for my baseball career, yet.

This happened because:
If you let the AI make the GG Awards, sometimes you'll notice in your league history there was no award at a certain position. Nobody played enough games at that position to qualify is why. (I asked Markus/Andreas about this) So I'm guessing he was the only player to qualify (playing time at position) or only a few qualified and he was the best of the lot. OOTP AI will then award it to the best player who qualified, regardless if their stats are good or bad. This is why I like to do those awards manually, because I don't like looking at my league history and seeing no winner. I will always pick a winner because there will always be enough players who played "almost" enough games to qualify, and in my OOTP World, that's good enough for me.

Check your league stats and see who/if anyone else qualified.
I'm not sure what the # of games is sorry, maybe somebody will come along who does know. |

If OOTP is trying to mimic the MLB, then gold gloves will be based more on popularity and offense than defense.

This in both the NL and AL, only 5 LF played over 100 games!

Either Moreno or Suarez is obviously a better choice for LF Golden Glove - if they actually played enough games in left field. Perhaps they were often in center or right, notwithstanding the roster position.

Well they were in the AL while the guy from above was in the NL (though now he's a free agent).
