Creating a Rating for Players

Has anyone ever messed around with creating a rating for players that will help you get a quick and dirty look on a guy? Maybe something like (CON*2)+(PWR*1.2)+(EYE*1.1) or something of the sort?

Used to it all the time for drafts, it just was never good enough, too many variables in editor only ratings, the diff in ratings scales, etc
