Creating a "world" to fail

Since many people have created "worlds" around the idea of the MLB folding I was wondering if anyone has ever made it happen and then created a new league/world out of the pieces of what was left.

I know the game doesn't exactly make it easy to fail something like that but it would be interesting.

I've done the opposite and made a world with a professional league through Europe to compete with the MLB. Basically I made baseball more popular around the world and created a few low reputation leagues in several countries as well.

That's cool. I've thought about making leagues in places that don't really have much of a baseball presence in real life. I'm still trying to get my first "world" working how I want it though.
