Blazing a Path?

After all these years, I should know this, but I can't seem to get it right.
Maybe it's all the great options and mods that have overwhelmed me.

I have to type in the path to a DB like Spritz's, correct?

Using the Expert in Settings, I change that path. Why?

My problem is that I don't do this part enough, I guess. Once I get a game going, I just keep at it. Now that I am exploring some of the MODS, I am losing Template, saved games, etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I use the keyboard control alt-c to copy and i think alt-r? to paste. You can also set up the DB under Advanced settings when creating a new league.i know i did not type it in for my History of the White Sox league.
