Question about the nickname file

I don't want to hide nicknames but I also don't want 90% of my league to have one.

I also want to delete a lot of the nicknames because I don't like most of them (Sorry to anyone who wrote them

).

So getting to my question, say I wither the nicknames file to 10 nicknames. Will the same 10 nicknames be given out with the same frequency as if the list was at default? Basically will there be hundreds of players with the same nickname or will a lot fewer players have nicknames?

I believe it will be the former. Would be pretty easy to test though. Just save a copy of the file, modify the nicknames.txt down to like three names, then start a new league, and see if you have 50 "Howdy Doody"s or whatever.

Well this is promising! I changed it to 5 names and am currently simming. I have yet to see a nickname

Well maybe not. I'm 10 years into my sims and out of 4330 players, none of them have nicknames

Ok i did something wrong the first time. I retried it and sure enough there are over 15 Wildfire's.

I wish there was coding to limit a nickname from being used more than once or twice. Or a nickname frequency modifier.

I must say, a game has to be pretty good to be complaining about nicknames!
