project: Start ****ty!

I've set out on a mission to start with the worst team possible, and build from there. How ****ty is it? the league is saved as "start ****ty 2".....that's right, my first attempt wasn't ****ty enough!!!

You guessed it....I took over the cubbies for 2014 in the ingame rosters. Then I made the entire active roster free agents. I built a terrible squad thru FAs, mostly on 1 year deals. I did sign a few former cubs, but decided to lay off their good players (Rizzo, Szamawhatevera, Lake.....that's all their good players), and go from there. Then I added these rules:
1. I can make 1 waiver move and / or 1 FA move a month
2. I can make 1 trade a month (hard, favor prospects), but the trade has to be fair, 2 for 2, 3 for 3 or 4 for 4, no ripping off the AI with 4 for 1 offers.
3. If at all possible, I WILL NOT trade Shawn Dunston Jr.
4. I am playing out all 162 games. that's going to suck, and it will likely involve assigning vulger nicknames to spice up the PBP.

I am currently .500. is anyone interested in hearing more?

and did i mention......Vernon Wells is on my team!!! I'm trying to figure out how to turn him into player / batting coach

So, after the cuts I got to work. I did sign a few Cubs; Wellington Castro (C), Bonifacio (util), Olt (3b)Hammel (SP) and Strop (RP). The rest of my squad is mainly 1 year deals, with a few 2nd year options in there.

So, I started with:
C. Castro
1b: Kendrys Morales
2b: Alcantrara (from the cubs system)
SS: Stephen Drew
3B: Brandon Inge
LF: Sweeney (Cubs)
CF: Andres Torrez
RF: Brett Jackson
Bench: Mike Olt, Juan Pierre, Vernon Wells,Josh Vitters, Yorbit Torrealba

SPs: Hammel, Kyle Hendrick, Brett Myers, Tommy Hanson
RP: Castro, Pedro Feliciano, Joel Hanrahan, other crap.

MARCH TRADE: Sent Bonifacio and Josh Vitters and a RP to SD for Tyson Ross and Donnie Roach (SPs) and Ryan Jackson (AAA SS)
APRIL TRADE: Send Brandon Inge (who started on a tear) and Torrealba to Mia for Mike Dunn, Steve Ciesek and a AA SP
APRIL FA: Signed Rusney Castilla (cuban)
APRIL WAIVER: Jose Lobeton, backup C

So, it's April 20 and somehow I am 7-9. But, I have this AAA SS, Javier Baez; the 5th best prospect in baseball, but a bad fielding SS. When I offer him around, I get Michael Wacha, King Felix, and Darvish straight up. I cant' trade him until May 1, but I am leaning towards Wacha, Joe Kelly and a hitter from St Louis for this kid and some other mid range prospects. That would give me a decent rotation, a decent bullpen, and a ****ty offense, with some help coming in AAA next year. And, all cheap players.

This is more fun than I thought it would be!
