Expansion Teams Not Filling Roster

Hey guys, I just added two expansion teams to my league (Anchorage Anchors and the Maine Lumberjacks) They each drafted 13 players in the expansion draft. Since then the Anchors have winded up with 17 players, and the Lumberjacks now have 21.

It's opening day..

They've had months to fill their teams with a booming FA market (I just added MLB/*** teams and players), and yet they've made little to no effort in signing players. Main rosters in my league allow for 26 players, AAA allow 35, and International Complex allows 40, and like I said come opening day they have 21 and 17 players respectively in their entire organization.

I know I could fill the rest of their roster with fictional players, but that defeats the purpose of them being expansion teams.. Any thing I can do besides taking at least 2 hours to manually go into the FA market and assigning 75 players to these teams?

I did the "ask management to build minor league system" or something along those lines in the options of the team menus a month or two back in the offseason, and as far as I could tell it doesn't help. I assume it creates lineups, rotations and depth charts using their current roster.

when i have made my expansion teams i make 35 rounds in the expansion draft i take one of the schedules from the mod site and it starts april 10th or so season when my game starts at march 20th and i dont have a problem bc i sign my own players but i let the leagues do the line ups but sign my own ufas for all my development teams.

I may have to do that. I manually grabbed both teams a mix of 3 to 3.5 star vets and some low star kids with 3.5+ potential to fill out their major league rosters.

I said screw it for the minor leagues, but they both looked like they ended up filling up their minor league system by opening day which was 8 days after the main leagues opening day.

I would just enable ghost players in the minors for a few months. They should fill up by draft time.

It sounds like this is primarily a timing issue and that the basic OOTP transaction AI actually would have filled those rosters before they actually needed the players to play a game if. If so, then that is a relief.

Even so, I usually allow for the ghost player option and it definitely would not hurt to keep that on for the first year.
