Can we get Off Topic unlocked?

I realize that this was done several years ago, and I understand the reasons. However, as a representative of the OT community, I think we have done a good job of policing ourselves. Our most inflammatory topics stay in OTD and the regular OT forum gets along very well without trouble.
The reason I ask is that slowly our thread count is dropping. I would like to see perhaps some new faces come along and join in the discussion about non game related things. We would of course keep OTD as an opt in only.

Can I get Andreas or a mod to comment? If the answer is no, then I will be perfectly content with that. I just thought I would ask.
