Injuries set to low--advice
I'm using the low injury setting for my random debut league. I forgot to change it to normal when I started my league and when I finally noticed, I realized I liked the setting and decided to stick with it. I have upped player fatigue to high. I also upped player/pitcher aging from 1.000 to 1.200.
Just curious what I should expect as far as milestone reaching goes? Will 3000 hits still be a pretty strong indicator of a hall of fame worthy player or will I need to raise it to say 3500. I'm using a 162 game schedule, by the way. League is locked into 1978, so I'm thinking 500 homers will remain a huge deal. So far after 4 seasons 44 is the single season high. What about wins? I've always loved using the automatic qualifiers for the Hall, but I've turned that off for this league. One thing I wanted to do is to pick my Hall inductees based on my OOTP league and not Major League Baseball. So, with that in mind, how many seasons should I play before I start inducting players? Thanks. |

ran a similar setup here (not a random debut, so historical rookies came in the year they did in real life, but not to the original teams, so it was first-come first-serve in the draft for them); and used low injury setting (didn't change default settings on fatigue/player aging, so that could make a bit o' difference for you).
I found that 3000 hits / .300 avg weren't difficult to achieve for a lot of players. Also, if you are using the 'iron man' rotation settings of the early years (1-2 man), you'll want to do the same for pitching wins, as 300 game winners were a dime-a-dozen from those early decades in my league. of course, if you have auto-induction turned off, you can just browse the retired players list and see how the stats are looking after a few decades, and then set your bar accordingly. |

I'm using 5 man rotations, always start the highest rested. Stamina normal, use of closers rarely and I keep switching from often back to normal for use of relievers. I think I like normal the best. I like complete games, but I do like to see a pitcher yanked if he gets in trouble. |

It would be nice to have a chart that would give you the expected performance as you add, modify, or remove settings.
Even better would be an interactive chart that modified the probable results as you ticked items on and off. |
