Dynasty - Existing League

I have a league going on right now playing as Seattle Mariners. It is 2023. I have injuries, financial and trading enabled. Playing all games autopilot. Make minor roster moves on my own.

The draft is coming up and I created the following 2 players. 1 Starting Pitcher and 1 Shortstop. Gave them good potential with average starting numbers. The entire draft will be Automated. Where they went coming soon.

Nice! Loving the influx of iOOTP dynasties. How old are these two?

Well, well, well. The 1st player picked was Humphrey Bogart by Baltimore. No.1 overall. Not surprisingly. But when I looked at Baltimore the next day they put him on the Active Roster at 17. Changed his position to his secondary position 2nd base from Shortstop. And put him in the lineup as a regular against RHP and LHP batting 7th. After 3 games he went 2-11 with 1 home run. Then they moved him to 3B batting 5th vs. LHP and SS batting 2nd vs. RHP. And moved his main position back to SS.

Very interesting.

Frank Sinatra was selected 11th in Round 1 by Tampa Bay. He was placed on the Minor League roster.

I have also posted the pre-draft speculation for the Top 10 picks.

I'm going to finish June then stop for any questions.

I heard Sinatra was tough to coach, he always wants to do it his way.

True. And his off the field association with alcohol and the ladies is epic.

It is now September 1st and the rosters have been expanded. Frank Sinatra was not brought up as of yet but Humphrey Bogart had a great game and continues his solid performance.

The regular season has ended. The last week Bogart won best rookie hitter of the month and had some nice stats for a 17 year old.

Baltimore did not make the playoffs.

Pretty good start for a 17 yr old. Reminding me of Robin Yount.

Well the January 1st Ratings came out and Humphrey moved up slightly. His Contact went up from 15-16 and his Overall Rating went from 74-76. His Potential stayed at 80. He was given a $490K salary and not yet eligible for Arbitration.

For Mr. Sinatra interesting his ratings changed a bit also. His Stuff dropped from 10-9 but he gained nicely on his Movement from 9-12. His Overall Rating stayed at 20 and Potential at 77. He was not placed on the active list and Morale remains good.

Sinatra seems on a steady but slower path...
Bogart, he's shooting up like a rocket. I wonder if Baltimore would consider a big trade for success sooner then later.(?)

I could sure use him on the team I'm
Coaching but want to let it flow on its own.

Well Humphrey Bogart had a solid Sophomore year. Improving on power and OBP.

Frank Sinatra was not called up for the September Roster Expansion.

Dynasty - Existing League

Ok. I finally made it to the World Series and won it with the Mariners. This started in 2013 pre-Cano. I'm trying different things. My goal was to keep the payroll lower than allowed. My budget right now is 110M and I'm only spending 89M. I might spend a little more not sure yet. Most of the team is returning. I lost one player as a FA because I wouldn't pay but will get a 2nd round compensation #20 overall and a supplemental so I'm good. My favorite part is winning Manager of the Year the last 2 years.
My strategy lately is filling in spots with seasoned veterans that still have decent ratings and signing to 1 year deals. And build up good players through the draft. Limited trading.

Any comments welcome.

Humphrey Bogart had a slight setback with a groin pull but came back on fire.

And look what he will probably get in his 1st Arbitration year at 20 years old.

Season is over and after the ratings upgrade on 1-1 Frank Sinatra has made the team as the 5th starter.
